sir,how can i prepare myself for gate 2010 (IT)? Is the GK publisher's book is sufficient?

along with refering books of various publication i suggest u to take regular mock tests either online or at various coaching classes......as it will show your level of prepairation.....

GK publishers book is handy but study theory from regular text books

keep going through the basics regularly,the problems in gk publishers are good

You can use GK publication but also have a thorough and a deep knowledge of the subjects of the paper you had selected so that this will help you to score good ranks.

Just books are not sufficiant for it,it is better to give more and more mock tests,as it will bring perfection in you.

I am terribly disappointed with the G.K Book....for Mechanical Engineering, I think they havent done a proof reading, I was okay with the spelling mistakes and all , but they have written bull shits all over it, lots of mistakes in theories, answer choices etc. I was trying to make an error report but I then realized that I will end up in writing another book :-P. Now I got an objective book by Bansal....which is better..... Anyways I will surely write to GK......they are screwing lots...

just take a proper guidance under a gate qualified candidate of the type of question and just follow your textbook with gk book it's sufficient.........

GK publisher book have theory with question papers but that is not suffficient you should refer regular text books for preparation .......

for the gate 2010,the exam is now over,so if you have given the exam and if you will get good marks then its well.
but if not then i will giving you suggestion to make your preparation very well.
first of all clear all the language subject like c,c++,java,
then clear your subject operating system,
then networking
and then other which is included in syllabus.
make regular practice own each cahpter and finally for the whole chapter.

and maths ,,,
go through study materials of GATE Forum ...
here some problems for 1 marks and some are 2 marks ,,,
so study deeply to all given subjects only...

My suggestion is you time yourself & give more mock test to prepare for this entrance exam...

go for materials of brilliant tutorials and ace academy they are really good and help to improve your capability

The best books available in the market are GK Publication and Made Easy Publication.

look dear as the gate exam is now over but still for all those who are going tto appear for it the comming year i will tell you that just dont rely on books by GK publications, as they are not so good but yes they are good to have in no choice as they are simple to follow but i will strongly recommend you the bansals publications book as it is quite near to perfecting the art selecting question for GATE hope you get benifit out of it .. bu t i will also like to add that just the bookish knowledge wont be enough if you really want to excel and score good then give as many mock tests as possible so as to know what all do you lack and in what you are strong. and hence work out accordingly// byee take care and good luck to all the GATE aspirants..

For GATE preparation go through your 11th and 12th class course books.

you can definitively prepare yourself for the gate exam,but for that you have to study really very hard and regularly,and first of all you have to clear your basics of the each and every topics,then you have to analyze that how much to study and what to study.
and after all the preparation i think the g.k publication books will be a great benefit for you

gate exam is the over view exam of 4 year btech course.and the syllabus for the gate is based on the btech course.

so it is better to review the all the subjects in the btech course for IT.

and as a reference books you may take

1.GK publication books.

2.gulgitia.

3.hunda & hunda.

you may also take coaching classes.

The book you mentioned is very good, but the thing, it is not enough owing to the competition.
I would suggest you to join some coaching and take regular mock tests so that you can identify your problem areas.
Also, it would be good enough if you go through the previous years papers to get an idea of what kind of papers come.

SIR, FOR PREPARING GATE ,TEST SERIES IS SUFFICIENT OR TO TAKE WEEKLY CLASS EXCEPT SELF STUDY?

Steps to prepare for gate exam:

1 Collect the syllabus for the exam, plan a schedule depending on the wieghtage of subjects given.

2 Gather more material.

3 concentrate on the subjects from which questions are expected more.

4 Take more and more tests, analyze every test result, identify your weak area and prepare well to rectify it.

5 As the exam is based on the concepts of engineering, gain a thorough understanding of the topics with the help of text books and reference books.

6. Practice more and more previous year question papers which will
give some idea about the model of the questions.

I am a student of B.Tech 3 year,and i want to know is 3 year students are allowed to appear in GATE exam or not this time?My 2 question is that is there any book available that covers all the GATE syllabus properly and obviously in a very conceptual manner?
