Quote:
If you can handle these responsibilities then yes you can easily become district collector with the B.Tech degree. All you need to do is complete the B.Tech after which appear in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) exam. If you passed this exam, you can become district collector. You simply need to appear for the UPSC Civil Service Examination conducted every year for IAS and IPS officer. Make sure you choose IAS officer exam in the admission form. The preparation of IAS exam would have to be started parallel with your B.Tech course. IAS is not a easy exam to crack because a high competition. A lot of people opt for professional coaching before they appear for the IAS exam. It is also important to understand that a lot of people don't crack the exam in first attempt. You should not lose confidence in such situation and prepare hard for the next time. Each candidate is given at least 4 chances to crack the IAS exam therefore even if you fail in the first attempt, take it positively and use the experience to prepare for the next exam. Here is the eligibility criteria for IAS Exam:- 1. This exam is only open for the Indian citizens. 2. You should complete at least graduation course to appear in IAS exam. A B.Tech degree would be more than enough. Age Limit:- 1. For General - 21 to 30 years. 2. OBC - 21 to 33 years. 3. SC/ST - 21 to 35 years. Number of Attempts:- General - 4 OBC - 7 SC/ST - There is no limit. Exam Pattern:- 1. Preliminary Exam - 2 Papers of 200 marks each. 2. Main Exam - 9 Papers in total of 2000 marks. 3. Interview - 300 marks. Subjects:- For the 4 papers in Main exam, each candidate is required to select 2 subjects. Below is the list of subjects. Agriculture Management Animal Husbandry & Vetinary Science Mathematics Anthropology Mechanical Engineering Botany Medical Science Chemistry Philosophy Civil Engineering Physics Commerce & Accountancy Political Science & International Relations Economics Psychology Geography Sociology Geology Statistics Indian History Zoology Useful Books to Prepare for IAS Exam:- Administrative Thinkers by Prasad and Prasad Public Administration and Public Affairs by Nicholas Henry Sociological Thought by Abraham and Morgan Methodology and Techniques of Social Research by Jaspal Singh Our Constitution by Subhash Kashyap Comprehensive Geography by D.R Khullar Physical Geography by Savindra Singh History of Political Thought – Plato to Marx Political Theory by O.P Gauba Indian Political Thought: Themes and Thinkers |
