Astronuat is something whose preparation starts from scrap
After college you need 3 years of related experience in your field. after degree and some experience its time to apply for astronauts positions.NASA recieces an averge of 4015 application to fill around 20 slots for every 2 years.and they call around 118 applicants from total for ASB interview based on experience potentioal motivation ability to function as team and communication skill. If applicant intersted in pilot or commandor position then instead of mission specialist then you have to go for at least 1000 hours of flight time in commant of a jet aircraft. These type of training you have to face and need to do in future that why many Many applicants do not meet medical standards while others withdraw after learning all that the job entails. After all these incidents Astronaut Selection Board chooses final candidates and pass to NASA and their decision will be final. Be prepare physically and Mentally as this not the 9-5 job which one expect but a 24 to 24 hr full dedication........ |

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
It is the policy of NASA to hire U.S. citizens as civil servants. There have been exceptions to this rule, however only in rare instances. For more information regarding this policy, please visit: http://www.usajobs.gov/ei/noncitizensemployment.asp. An area of possible employment for you exists with our International Space Partners (ISP). NASA has ISP from all over the world and has collaborated with the European Space Agency on endeavors ranging from foreign investigators flying experiments on the Space Shuttle to foreign sponsored missions to the upcoming Space Station. These types of vacancies may be found by visiting: http://www.esa.int/esaCP/index.html. Another avenue that you may wish to pursue is employment with one of our approved contract vendors. A substantial part of the NASA team consists of individuals working for contract companies located both at NASA facilities and throughout the world. Each of our contractor companies handles their own application process and hiring. Contractors may not have the same citizenship requirements as NASA does. For contractor job information (including eligibility, qualifications, vacancies, and benefits) you must contact the companies directly. Please search this page for information about contractor contacts at each NASA center: http://www.nasajobs.nasa.gov/jobs/contractors.htm. Go through all the details & prepare accordingly....... But it is not right. ONLY HE CAN decide what field is best for him. He has not even got the mentality to choose at this stage. So please don't pressurize ur child to show much importance to space field. he may hate that permanently. Who knows? He might be interested in Biology or Computers too!!!! He can even aspire to become an Artist too... so u cannot decide anything. it's in his hands.. Appreciate whatever he chose to become! Now let him finish his Schooling first!! |

JOIN TO NASA
To become an astronaut you need to specialise in aeronautical /aerospace engineering at an advanced level. The men and women who make it to America’s astronaut corps must possess a unique blend of personality traits. A glance at the biographies of the less than one percent aspirants who do make it through NASA’s weeklong screening process reveals top scholars, decorated pilots and accomplished scientists. Astronauts learn to operate shuttles, perform experiments in zero gravity. Interestingly, over 1/3rd of NASA employees are of Indian origin. The NASA-Ames Research Centre has implemented a new automated recruiting and staffing system called NASA STARS. To apply in NASA visit this website:- www.hr.arc.nasa.gov/students/index. html. To get direct admission into NASA
prepare for B.Tech from an advanced college and getting everything whatever needed to fulfill the requirement. on the opposite side you could have other option go with everything attached with which can make sure the percentage to enter and then apply for it. |
