i have completed my M.A in english i would like to take a job in a college as a lecturer .if it so what is my qualification either M.pHIL OR Ph.D or else M.Phil with P.hd pleas answer my question.

For Becoming Lecturer in any college you an choose either among two way.

One way of becoming lecturer is to do Ph.d/M.phil from the university which offering the same.

For doing P.hd from Reputed University you need to have at least 55% to 60% marks in your post graduation

and you have done your post graduation from recognized university.

Universities may conduct entrance examination /personal Interview for admission in Phd in the subject.

Other Option for becoming Lecturer in college is to clear examinations called SET/ NET conducted for students for lecturership in colleges.

Minimum Eligibility For applying in NET examination

POST GRADUATION Degree IN SUBJECT FROM RECOGNIZED UNIVERSITY with at least 55% marks .

There is no age limit to apply for Lecturer ship.

After clearing NET/SET examination you will be eligible to apply in Govt or Private Colleges for Lecturership.

in today's date is it at all possible to get the job of a lecturer in English literature by cracking NET/SET with only masters degree?

As you have completed post graduation course you are eligible for lecturer job in government colleges. For that you are not required to study any further and pursue M.Phil or the PhD. Your Master of Arts degree is enough.

You will have to appear for the competitive entrance exam called National Eligibility Test. If you managed to clear this test, you can get government lecturer job. Therefore instead of M.Phil or PhD, you should focus on National Eligibility Test.

The test is conducted by the University Grants Commission in June and December. It is quite a difficult test to clear therefore you may want to start preparing at least 3-4 months ahead of the entrance exam.


Eligibility

1. Your nationality should be Indian to appear for the entrance exam.

2. Master degree in any field is required to appear.

3. Your degree should be from a UGC recognized college.

4. At least 55 percent marks in post graduation.

5. Candidates belonging to SC/ST will get 5% relaxation.

6. You can also eligible to appear during the final year of post graduation.

7. Select the NET subject which is relevant to your degree.


Age Limit

1. JRF candidate should not exceed 28 years to apply.

2. OBC can claim 3 years relaxation.

3. While SC/ST get 5 years relaxation.

4. For Lectureship, you don't need to worry about age limit since there isn't any.

though eligibility for lecturer is only 55% in M.A. but do colleges consider candidates scoring below 60% in M.A, for English lecturer?
