Re: How to be an IPS or CID?
IPS stands for Indian Police Services. In order to become IPS officer, you must crack the Civil Services examination conducted by UPSC every year.
This exam has three stages: >>Preliminary examination. >>Mains examination. >>Personal interview. Candidate must have done bachelor's degree in any discipline with passing percentage of marks in order to apply for this exam. The age limit is 21-30 years. Relaxation of three years applicable to OBC and five years to SC/ST candidates. For any more details, you can visit www.upsc.gov.in. Now, CID stands for Criminal Investigation Department. There are so many posts available in CID for candidates. You can get a post depending upon your academic qualification. A 10+2 passed candidate can join CID as Assistant Sub Inspector. For Sub Inspector you must have done bachelor's degree from a recognized university. There are two ways to enter into CID: >>You can join CID through promotion in State Police force. You should join state police force after bachelor's degree and then depending upon your track records and performance, you will be eligible for becoming officer in CID. >>The second option is same as becoming IPS officer. You need to clear the different stages of Civil Services examination and after training under IPS, you will be given post under CID. |
