you can write the entrance exam for hotel management ,if qualify in that you are eligible for hotel management,commerce is the good way to read hotel management

there are many options in hotel management ,they are

1)restaurant management/fast food management
2)club management /recreation and health centre management
3)cruise ship hotel management
4)hospital administration and catering
5)institutional and industrial catering

The Eligibility To Enter a course in Hotel Management is class 12. Hence you are fully eligible. Institutes coming under National Council offers a 3yr Diploma Course while private institutes offers a 4yr Diploma Course.


There is an entrance test consisting of English, Reasoning, General Science and General Knowledge. The test is of 2-hour duration and is held around April every year. The test is followed by a group discussion and interview, in which a person's personality and confidence is seen. Private institutes have their tests at different times in April/May and the pattern of the paper is roughly the same. Academic sessions usually start by July/August every year.

To do Hotel Management after passing class12th you can appear in the
NCHMCT OR National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology will hold the Joint Entrance test for the Hotel Management Course .

The Test is on 27th April 2013
Last date to apply is 15th April 2013

Educational Qualifications: 12th Pass
English should be one of the subjects in class 12th



AGE- Max age to apply for the General and OBC candidates is 22 years
Only Candidates born on and after 1st July 1991 can apply

The minimum qualification required to go for a course in hotel management is 10+2. For certificate, diploma and bachelors courses 10+2 is sufficient. Duration of certificate courses is six months to one year. Bachelor and diploma courses are of duration one and half to three years.
