Nice to see that you are interested to apply for Indian Army Just after completing your Intermediate examination. After Intermediate examination you are eligible to apply for the NDA(National Defence Academy examination), this examination is conducted by UPSC, two times in a year.

If you have choose PCM subject in your Intermediate examination then you are eligible to choose all the wings of NDA at the time of filling online application form, but you have to give your Preference to these wings namely, Army, Naval and Air force wings.

If you are most interested to Join Indian Army, then you can choose Army wings as your first Preference.

To apply for NDA Examination, you have to complete your Intermediate examination from a Recognised University, Only Unmarried male candidates are eligible for NDA Examination, but your age should between 16.5 to 19 years to apply for NDA Examination.

Notification of Next year NDA(I) Examination is going to be published soon in the month of December this year and after publishing the notification you are eligible to fill online application form of NDA. You have to be Medically and Physically fit to apply for NDA Examination.

-You can join indian army after 10+2 through NDA exam .

-For NDA exam your age must be 16 1/2 to 19 years. You should be unmarried male.

-If you have done 10+2 with physics and maths then you will be eligible for all three forces i.e Army , Air force and Navy.

-You have to pass the objective type paper with good marks to be eligible for SSB interview.

a) Nationality :
A candidate must either be :
i) a citizen of India, or
ii) a subject of Bhutan, or

iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course at the Naval Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equilvalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply.
(d) Physical Standards : Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination as per guidelines given :
Candidates are advised to rectify minor defects/ailments in order to speed up finalisation of medical examination conducted at the Military Hospital after being recommended at the SSB. The undermentioned ailments are considered, common minor ailments :
Wax (Ears), Deviated Nasal Septum, Hydrocele/Phimosis, Overweight/Underweight, Under sized Chest, Piles, Gynaecomastia, Tonsillitis, Varicocele
A candidate recommended by the Services Selection Board will undergo a medical examination by a Board of Service Medical Officers. Only those candidates will be admitted to the academy who are declared fit by the Medical Board. The proceedings of the Medical Board are confidential and will not be divulged to anyone. However the candidates declared unfit will be intimated by the President of the Medical Board and the procedure for request for an Appeal Medical Board will also be intimated to the candidate.
Candidates declared unfit during Appeal Medical Board will be intimated about the provision of Review Medical Board.
(a) The candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease/disability which is likely in interfere with the efficient performance of military duties.
(b) There should be no evidence of weak constitution, bodily defects or under weight. The candidate should not be overweight or obese.
(c) The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. (162.5 cms for Air Force) F

A ± 10% (A ± 6 Kg for Navy) departure from the average weight given in the table 1 above is to be considered within normal limit. However, in individuals with heavy bones and broad build as well as individuals with thin but otherwise healthy this may be relaxed to some extent on merit.

Chest should be well developed. Fully expanded chest should not be less than 81 cms. The minimum range of expansion after full inspiration should be 5 cms. The measurement will be taken with a tape so adjusted that its lower edge should touch the nipple in front and the upper part of the tape should touch the lower angle of the shoulder blades behind. X-Ray of the chest is compulsory and will be taken to rule out any disease of the chest.
There should be no disease of bones and joints of the body. X-ray of spine of candidates will not be carried out as a routine except for Air Force. It will, however, be done on the advice of surgical specialist wherever clinically indicated. Minor congenital defects which are not likely to interfere in the performance of military duties may be acceptable on merit

To Join Indian Airforce Just After Passing Class 12th, You need to apply for the UPSC NDA exams:

Education:

Indian Army- 12th class or Intermediate Pass in any stream
Indian Airforce and Indian Navy Wing- 12th class or Intermediate Pass.In class 12th you should have studied the subjects Physics and Maths.


Age-
Minimum 16.5 years
Maximum 19 years
No age relaxations is given to any candidates who apply for the NDA exams

Next NDA exams would be held in April 2014

Only Candidates born between 2nd January 1996 to 1st July 1998 can apply for these exams

How to join Indian Army

The best option for you right now would be to go for NDA..

The NDA which stands for National Defence Academy is the examination conducted by UPSC every year in August and April for

1) Army Wing
2) Naval Wing
3) Air Force Wing

The applicants who fulfill the below mentioned criterion are eligible to appear for the NDA :

> Age of applicant should not be more than 19 years and should not be less than 16 and 1/2 years..

> Must be a 12th pass out from a recognized central or a state board (PCM for Navy and Air Force)

> Should be an unmarried male

The 1st stage is going to be the written exam which will have 2 papers General Ability and Mathematics

If you pass this round then you will qualify for the next 2 rounds which are :

Medical Examination, and
Personal Interview

Well you are from Technical stream so there is one TES entry for you guys which happen every year around June/July. In which you hav to appear for the SSB interview directly, no written test is there.
But a merit list is generated based on your PCM marks. So, try to score more in PCM. Well, if you don't get a call for TES than try NDA written exam after clearing it you can go for the SSB interview. The exam generally contains Aptitude and general science questions(PCM).

Yeah sure you can join the Indian Army/Navy or even Air Force after studying PCM in your 12th standard. I am going to give you all the information regarding it. Please read along.

NDA stands for the National Defense Academy and its basically a government organization which prepares candidates for the various streams of Army, Navy and Air Force. Its conducted twice every year in the months of April and August by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission)

Now before anyone can apply for this national exam, its mandatory for the candidate to meet the specific Eligibility Criteria's which are usually duly mentioned in the advertisement for the same. I am going to list a few most important ones:

1. You should be an unmarried Male Indian with age within 16.5 to 19 years. There should not be any deviation from it.

2. If you are from Science stream, you are free to apply for any of the 3 wings of defense, but if you are from Commerce or Arts ones then only Army is the stream in which you can apply.

3. Physical and Mental fitness is a must to be a part of any Army.

4. Talking about the education qualification, you should be a minimum 12th pass from a recognized college or educational institution with good enough percentage aggregate however nothing is mentioned as a minimum cut off.

So when you think of applying for the NDA, please keep the above mentioned criteria's in your mind.
Now coming to how to apply, the forms are usually out in December, so you an fill them up and submit with the required fees.

Then you gota wait for the acknowledgement card, which means they would receive your form and its under processing now. You have to wait for the date to download the admit card, which is in March tentatively. The exam always conducts in the month of April every year when you are through with your Class 12th board exams.

You have to crack the written exam first, and if you are successfully able to do so, then you would be called for the SSB Interview. There they would conduct a strict physical test where in you have to prove your physical fitness and then you would have to face the Personal Interview panel. On successful completion of all these, you would be a NDA Cadet.
