Sorry to inform you that there is no way by which you can join Merchant Navy being an Arts stream student because the minimum educational requirement for the same is Science stream student with Physics , Chemistry and Mathematics as the main subjects in the 12th .

But if you are interested to join defense then you have the option of Indian Army only for which you have to compete NDA examinations .

The necessary qualifications required for the same examination are as :-

* You must be an unmarried male candidate .

* You must have the nationality of India .

* Your age must be below 16.5 years and not exceeding 19 years too .

* You must have done your 12th with any discipline from a recognized board .

The examination is conducted into phase which are as :-

Phase I :- Written examination .

Phase II :- Service Selection Board Interview
(For this examination you will have to first qualify in Phase I ).
