Civil Service (IPS) Age Limit & Number of Attempts

General Candidates:-
Age Limit: 21 - 30 years
Number of attempts allowed: consecutively 4 times.

OBC (Non Creamy Layer):-

Age Limit: 21 - 30 Years
Number of attempts allowed: Consecutively 7 times

SC/ST:-

Age Limit: Relaxation of upto 5 years in the standard limit of (21-30 years).
Number of attempts allowed: No such limit, can give maximum times.

Physically Challenged, but belongs to general category:-

Age Limit: Relaxation of upto 10 years in the standard limit of (21-30 years), depending upon the percentage of disability. Physically Challenged candidate must have at least 40% disability.

Number of attempts allowed:
Consecutively 7 times


Physically Challenged + Backward Community (SC/ST/OBC etc.):- Age Limit: Relaxation of upto 10 years in the standard limit of (21-30 years), depending upon the percentage of disability. Physically Challenged candidate must have at least 40% disability.

Number of attempts allowed: No such limit, can give maximum times.

NOTE: Deaf, Blind, Handicapped etc. all comes under physically challenged, and are liable for relaxation upto 10 years

the no. of attempts in IPS exam as cast vise-

cast age no. of attempts

1. GENERAL 21 - 30 years 4 TIMES

2.OBC 21 - 30 years 7 TIMES

3.SC/ST Relaxation of upto 5 years NO LIMIT

4.Physically Challenged Relaxation of upto 10 years 7 TIMES
IN GEN.

5.Physically Challenged Relaxation of upto 10 years NO LIMIT
IN BACKWARDS

Hello Dear,

IPS exam conducted by UPSC and only 04 attempts (maximum) is allowed to

general candidates and 07 attempts (maximum) is allowed to Other Backward

Classes candidates and infinite attempts is allowed to SC / ST candidates.

The attampt no is different for different cetegory ..

for general category it is : 4

For OBC/SC/ST it is :7

1) Candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on usually by August 2011.

2) Age Relaxation for OBC’s , SC and ST :-
OBC – 3 years , 5 Years – SC and ST.

3) Number of attempts:-
The maximum number of attempts permissible to different categories of aspirants, who are otherwise eligible, will be as follows:
  • General category (04)
  • P.H. candidates belonging to general category (07)
  • OBC (07)
  • SC/ST/ (no limit).

If You Are A General Candidate And Interested to Apply for IPS exams, then You will Appear for This examination 4 times. And If You have Attempt All the 4 Chances, Then After You will Not Appear for IPS Examination.

7 Attempts are Allowed for Other Backward Classes


And there Is No Restriction for SC/ST Candidates For Appear In IPS Examination.


Eligiblity Creteria To appear In IPS examination -


If You Have Completed Your Degree From Recognised Colleges OR If You have appeared for the Qualifying Examination and Are Awaiting results, Then You Are Also Eligible to Appear for the Preliminary.

But To Appear In IPS Examination, Your Age Should Between 21 to 30 Years.

Dear,
If you are general then you may appear Consecutively 7 times IPS, and If you are SC/ST/OBC and backward category then there is no limit for attempt allowed in IPS

You must be at least 21 years of age at the time of filling the Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam form and not more than 30 years of age (various relaxations are available for different categories).

Hello Friend

General Candidates can appear in the exam for consecutively 4 times.But the OBC Candidates can appear in the exam for Consecutively 7 times where as there is no limit for the SC/ST candidates.They can appear in the exam as many times they want.

Hi,
IPS(Indian Police Service) is a civil service exam.

Exam Date : Prelim in 1st week of May & Mains in 2nd week of Oct.

No of attempts for candidate-

7 attempt for OBC

No limit for SC/ST student

If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

Eligibility criteria-

Age limit-21 must be complete on 1st aug(Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs ).

Physical criteria-
Height – Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm

Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm

Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.

To qualify as an IPS, you must appear and pass in the Civil Service examination conducted by the UPSC each year.

Maximum No. Of Attempts:

*General candidatesnly 4 attempts

*OBC candidates: 7 attempts

SC/ST candidates:No limit.

However, you must also be within the specified age limit as mentioned below:

Minimum Age for appearing in the exam is 21 years as on 1st August of the year of examination.

Upper Age Limit:

*General:30Years.

*OBC:33 Years.

*SC/ST:35 Years.

for general candidate there is the age-limit of 21-30 and he\she can make 4 consecutive attempt for this exam.
for SC\ST candidates there is the relaxation of 5 years and he\she can make many attempt within their age limit.

Hello,

Attempts:

For General category candidates is - 4 attempts
For SC/ST category candidates is - No limit.
For OBC category candidates is - 7 attempts.

* The candidates should get graduation from a recognized university. If you want to appear for exam you have to get graduation.

Age limit:

The age limit for general candidates is 21-30 years
The age limit for OBC candidates is 21-33 years
The age limit for SC/ST candidates is 21-35 years.

Indian Public Service exam is part of Civil Service exam,conducted by UPSC every year once.

Eligibility criteria for Indian Public Service:
Education qualification:Candidate should complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university.
Age limit:
For general category age should be between 21 to 30 years
For obc category age should be between 21 to 33 years
For sc/st category age should be between 21 to 35 years

Number of attempts:
Only 4 attempts for General category candidate
Only 7 attempts for OBC category candidates
No limit for sc/st category candidates.

Indian Public Service(Preliminary exam) Notification for this year:
Issue of application form from 4th Feb 2012 to 5th March 2012.
Exam will held on 20th May 2012.

Indian Public Service (Main Exam) notification for this year:
Exam will held on 15th Oct 2012.
Yet notification details,were not update,i hope they will be updating notification after preliminary exams.

Academic Qualification :
The candidate must be graduate from any university.
