Re: How many chances are allowed for IIT?
Quote:
The maximum number of attempts at JEE Main have been decided by the Central Board of Secondary Education to be three. Therefore the candidates who have cleared their Class XII in 2011 and 2012 will be eligible for JEE Main 2013 along with the students who will be appearing for the exam in 2013. The students who have passed their Board Exams in 2010 are not eligible for JEE Main 2013. This decision of consideration of XII class marks has affected the dropper students the most as they have been preparing for the AIEEE and IIT JEE exams and not Improvement Board Exams or JEE Main 2013. The following situations may arise to decide the number of attempts: -> The candidates who have already appeared for JEE in 2011 and 2012 are not eligible for JEE 2013 even if they are in top 1.5 lakh. -> Even after a candidate qualify JEE Main 2013, if he / she has appeared for JEE in 2011 and not in 2012 eligibility will be violated. -> The candidates who appeared for class XII in 2012 but didn’t score the minimum marks for qualifying exam, and gave JEE too but didn’t qualify, if such candidates re – appear for Class XII in 2013 and sit for JEE Main 2013 they will be eligible. -> If any candidate got his/her results late, after the last date in September 2011 and he didn’t give JEE 2011 or 12 will be eligible for JEE Main 2013 and will be eligible for IIT admission given he is in top 1.5 lakh. -> If the candidate gave Class XII exam in 2011 and didn’t give JEE in 2011 but appeared for it in 2012, will be eligible for admission in IIT given the other criteria are satisfied. |
