Dear Aspirant,

Hello my friend there are only a limited seats in the BE courses.

It is very limited when coming to some rare courses in a particular college.

So if you get a good entrance exam rank or score then you can have the chance of getting the seat in that particular college on that particular course.

Else it would be very hard to find a college with low rank and good course.

So chance will be less to the person who got the less score and low rank.

Generally the seats for a course in a engineering college are as follows:-

CSE - 60 Seats

IT - 60 Seats

CIVIL- 60

Mech -60

And so on

The limit for a seat would be 60 to a particular branch.Sometime even more less than that.

So if you want to get into that colleges which have less seats then you need to get a good score or good rank.

the seats depends on the branch you are choosing.
As said by sammy, the seats are available in the same proportion.
but in few colleges there will be double the seats..
i.e., In top rated colleges the number of seats will be more than the average colleges like..

CSE- 120 to 180
mech- 60 -120
ece-120
eee -60
EIE -60

in all colleges 10-15% of the seats will be for management quota and remaining will be available based on the rankings in entrance examinations.

Here you did not mention about which college you are talking about and the type of course you need to know about.

There are lots of courses available in different colleges in India.

In general the number of seats for each course will be ranging from 60 to 120 seats for each course.
