how many times cat is held in a year and in how many phases common admission test is held?

cat is held only once during a year....there are 2 phases of cat.....first phase is the written test....candidate qualifying written test will be given a call for 2nd phase that is gdpi....though some iims have scrapped the gd out of process and have started essay writing instead but pi will be conducted for sure and anyone out of gd / essay writing.....this is general trend for 2nd phase but be prepared for anything in 2nd phase as iims are known for their surprises every year.....

CAT is held only once in an year. From 2009 onwards, it is an online test conducted over a 11 day window where students can go to their nearest computer based test centres and write the exams. CAT has only one phase and a score is declared after the exams.

there is no age restriction for appearing in CAT.

First Phase commenced on No.28th and ended on Dec.8th 2009.
Second Phase was on January 30th & 31st 2010.( Result declared Feb."10)

Those who could not appear on the First Phase ( under special cause and conditions) subject to reliability are eligible to appear for Second Phase.

From 2009, it has been computerized and conducted at length of 11 days test window.
Candidates has the option to choose the date and time of the test.

Each day test is conducted F.N. and A.N.

The test runs for 2hours 30 min.duration and covers Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning.

Candidates will have to answer about 60-70 questions in fixed time.

nope you cant join iim's or any top b-school in india in 2012 with cat 2010 score....cat score is valid only for admission for that academic year....

hi. now im pursing my b.tech final year. i want to write test on next nov i.e..,nov 2011. i dnt have work experience. if i get qualified in the written phase will there be any chance for me to get into iims, i got this dought because i dnt have work experience and i have only 70 percentage in b.tech, 83 percentage in inter, but now im good at cat written exams, gd and pi. i took coaching at times. my interest towards cat made me to prepare well. is there any chance for me to get into iims?

CAT exam are conducted only once in a year .After good score .selection phases are depend upon the college selection criteria.

next you have to sit for either a group discussion round or an essay writing session.candidates selected will have to face an interview and thats the final stage after which you can enter your destined college

no CAT result is valid for only a year.
but its useful for you only if you apply in b-schools through CAT.
than you have a chance to get call from any b-schools.
