IES exam is Indian Engineering services exam conducted by UPSC.

You should be Graduation in Engineering in foll0wing disciplines if you want to apply for this exam:

-Mechanical Engineering

-Civil Engineering

-Electrical Engineering

-Electronics and Communication Engineering

The age criteria for IES exam is as follows:

-21 to 30 years for General category.

-5 years age relaxation for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC.

The number of attempts are limited for General and OBC which is 4 and 7 respectively.

There is no limit for SC/ST in attempts of this exam.

You can get the sylabus for material science subject from UPSC website http://www.upsc.gov.in

But you can download the attachment if you want the syllabus of your stream.
