Hi Dude,

You have Two options to prepare for SI examination:

1. Prepare yourself.
2. Join a coaching class

If you want to prepare yourself for it then ,solve previous year question papers of Sub inspector,Pay attention on arithmetic,Reasoning,General awareness,General english equally.

Helpful books for Preparation of SI:
Arithmetic: R.S Agarwal and NCERT books.
General english: R.S Agarwal,common error books and NCERT books.
General Awareness: Upkar publication.
Reasoning: Arihant Publication.

There are also some model question papers are available in market.

Tips to Prepare SI exams:

Solve previous Papers of SI exam.
Prepare the number of preferred books and know about the topics.
Practice a lot..!
For general awareness you have to study the daily news papers etc.
Solve online tests.
In any exam time management is imporatant. By practice only you can manage your time...

Eligibility for SI exam:
You should have Indian citizenship.

Age Limit-
You age should be between 20 to 25 years on the day of examination.

Age Relaxation-
There is an age relaxation of -
3 years for OBC reserved category candidates.
5 years for SC/ST reserved category candidates.
5 years for candidates who have achieved distinction in sports.

Education Qualification-
You should have a bachelors degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
There is no percentage cut-off as such.

Physical Standards-
minimum height needed-170cms
chest size should be 81cms before expansion and minimum 85cms after full expansion.
