sir,
i have made a mistake in IIT application form while filling it offline.I have mentioned wrong mother tongue..how do i rectify this mistake as on now i had already sent it?
please answer to my question sir.

just send a mail to the respactive IIT management and request the correction......

if u have submitted it online than u can rectify ur mistake son line but if not than send a letter abt ur mistakes.if its possible other these mistake u can edit only at the time of admission...

In General, All the blanks available in the application of the IITJEE shall be duly filled without fail.
Other wise your application is considered as incomplete and rejected.
In the case of errors with major areas like DOB, Language of Question paper, Address, etc., there will be a risk.

But as your mother tongue is mentioned wrong, its not a big deal. you can change it
during counseling or at the time of admission.(if you have qualified & been selected)

Therefore, no need to worry. it will not harm you anyway..... you will
receive your Admit Card & you can write your Exam!

If you still feel it necessary, Contact your respective IIT through the numbers provided in your brochure.

Well mistakes also happen sometimes, changing your mother tongue will not be a big problem for you. If you have applied online then immediately you can go for the change in your error. Other wise you can also contact the respective IIT zone and ask for the enquriy.

If they say that is not a big problem as in the case of DOB or NAME then you can go for the exam,and you can change later.

Even at the time of counselling or admission,mother tongue has nothing to do about it. You can change when you are enrolled as it will be again a main factor for your placement activities, not for now.

So choose carefully next time and dont commit silly mistakes again..

Since the mistake done by you is not a very big mistake. It can be corrected at the time of counseling or when you get admission in the institute you will be asked to check your details.

So you can correct it at that time. But make sure that your application form is accepted by the institute where you have send your application form. You can check your IIT JEE application form status through the link given below:

Here you will be asked to add your application number and you will get your application status from here.

So don't worry if you have send your application form at time and add all the details in your form then it will be corrected later.

Well its not a major problem. But still try to correct it by contacting concern authority of IIT.

you just need to send an application form regarding the mistake you have done and what should be there in place of that mistake..

The IIT announced that students who have filled there form not correctly.
in the website of the IIT of your zone the IIT published the name of the students.
So you don't worry if your form is filled incorrectly then they will call you or send the notification.
And till now the all notifications are send by the IIT's.

If you have made a mistake in your IIT Application form and if you have submitted, then sorry you can not correct it. Because after submission the application form, its very difficult to correct the mistakes.

So, i will suggest you, please contact the concerned authority, if you have any doubt regarding the rejection your application form. But I think your application form was not rejected, because your mistake was no big.


So, if you have written the wrong mother tounge in the IIT application form, then dont worry about it, because it was not big mistake and you can correct it later, when you have clear the IIT exams.

If you have made a mistake in your IIT Application form and if you have submitted, then sorry you can not correct it. Because after submission the application form, its very difficult to correct the mistakes.

In the case of errors with major areas like DOB,Address,category etc., there will be a risk of form rejection but as you mentioned that you have filled a wrong mother tongue there will be no risk of form rejection and if you cleared your examination you can have a seat in IIT.

Since you made the mistakes in filling the application form, you ca better to contact the admin who is taking care of the application form, through call or mail.

Better you can contact them through phone and send an apologies letter with your application number and your details. But, before contacting them, ensure your application status using the URL: http://jee.iitr.ernet.in/validate.php

hi.....

sorry you cannot rectify the mistake......
but according to me you should write an application to them regarding this matter.....
although mother tongue mistake won't matter much.........

just go to main branch if u possible or u can modify through online.

Writing wrong mother tongue is not at all a problem......you can change it during counselling....If you still have doubt it's better to contact the convenor

I am going to give iitjee 2011 this year and this is my second attempt.Sir I made some mistakes in elligibility collumn .I got 52% in 12th in 2010 and for elligibility i am giving improvement exam too this year. so sir. how can i correct this mistake in my application form .there i wrote that i am elligible I got my admitt card.so sir If am selected and elligible too for iit by my improvement exam.can i rectify that mistake at the time of councelling.plzzzz reply to the concirned matter.

as you have done a very minute mistake it can be corrrected while joining an institution after getting your rank cards

Mother Tongue is not a detail which would lead to the rejection of your application.

Its a very minor thing, and you can always rectify it during admission and all.

So as of now, you would surely get your admit card, and you can sit for the exam. Study for it, and crack it.

how can we get the pincode corrected ?
