How should I get admission in IIT after scoring 1535 rank in civil in GATE?


sir,
i am having an air rank of 1535 in civil for gate 2013. what are my chances to get into iit ? if so in which branch ? which are the iit s i should look into and also please guide me regarding the branches ? i am open category.....

GATE(graduate apptitude test )

--->The cutoff marks vary based on the stream you select in IIT and also the location.

---->cutoff marks varies based on the branches you wat to select in IIT.

----->cutoff for IIT kanpur is around 700 for direct admission to computer science.

----->other branches like ec and it the cut is 750

------->for civil engineering the cutoff mark is lower to It and ec.

i get GATE biotechnology so i want to do Ph. D. ? is this possible?

Hello

As you are open category you chance is low. but you can try for colleges like
NIT WARANGAL
NIT TIRCHY'
NIT CALICUT
NIT ROURKELA
NIT SURATKAL.

This college just after IIT.

And you can try for some new IIT. AS comparing to other IIT there cut off will be low.

Sir,
my all india rank in GATE is 2138 and my GATE score is 538 do i have the chance to get admission in any of the new IITs?
