After 12th for CA you have to register yourself in ICAI by submmiting the registretion form for it. This registration forms are available in Chapter offices of ICAI.

After your registration some study material are given by ICAI to you for CPT exam's preparetion.

Dear Friend,

To join CA course you have to apply for the CPT examination. One who has passed class 12th in any stream can join the CA course after qualifying in the CPT examination.

So if you want to join the CA course you have to appear in the CPT examination.
So go to the nearest ICAI office and get the registration form for the CPT. You can register yourself online also.

It is possible to take admission for the Chartered Accountancy course after completing 12th standard. You can complete 12th with any stream like Arts, Commerce and Science and yet apply for the Chartered Accountancy course.

The procedure is quite simple. The candidates first have to appear for the Common Proficiency Test. Any student who have completed 10th standard can register for the Common Proficiency Test. However you can only appear for it after completing 12th standard.

Since you have completed 12th standard you can appear for the Common Proficiency Test. It is conducted twice in a year. The next time it will be conducted towards the end of the year.

There are four sections in the Common Proficiency Test:

1. Economics

2. Mercantile Law

3. Fundamentals of Accountancy

4. Quantitative Aptitude

These four sections are divided into 2 groups in the Common Proficiency Test. You will have to clear both these groups with at least 30 percent marks in each group. Only then you can take admission in the second stage known as Integrated Professional Competancy Course (IPCC).

In case you are not being able to clear the Common Proficiency Test, the best thing to do would be take admission for graduation course. After which you should ensure at least 55 percent marks in commerce graduation course and 60 percent marks in non commerce graduation course.

If you managed to score the marks mentioned above then you will be given exemption from appearing for the Common Proficiency Test and would be able to take direct admission for the Integrated Professional Competancy Course without having to appear for any written test.

i am an engineering graduate with 65% marks and want to pursue chartered accountant course via cpt route as i am from a non commerce background . can i do so. i passed 12 th in 2000 with 80% marks in science.
