IIT-JEE form filled up with black pen, instead of pencil?

Dear Sir:

My sister's son has filled up the squares in his IIT-JEE 2010 application form with black ball pen, instead of a pencil as recommended in the application format. Is this filled-up form OK to be submitted?
Please attend this question and give us an answer quickly.

form is OMR generated sheet, optical sensetive, which accept only HB pecils, which is made upof pure graphite.

but your daughter had filled it up with pen.

It is better to submit new form.

the application form is an omr sheet which will be sensed by computer for the details, some examinations like aieee allow it to be filled by black ball point pen,but iit strictly mentions it to be filled with HB PENCIL,so dont take a chance and ask your sisters son to fill a new application form

The rule is to fill the spaces using HB pencil shade but since you have marked it with a pen it is better you apply once again or atleast contact the concerned staff of that center and get the required details.

in this case form will be rejected soon, because you have fill form with hb pencil. you have not read the instruction while filling the form.

no need to worry as they ask you to use black pencil for it so that at time or scanning the rays get blocked and the black pen also do that. if any problem occur during the scanning they use to check the application manually.

dear friend, the omr sheet which is optical response sheet....which gives good response in pencil..it does not give good response in pen ...so the institutes tell that using pencil.....
i think that if you using black pen in very small manner then it will not create very big problem..rather you can inform their authority ...for confirmations.
ok
best of luck.

better to caontact the concersned authority, because the application sheet must be filled with the hb pencile...

so inform them about the mistake...

otherwise your form may be liable to be rejected...

its strictly showed that you don't have to use pen then how could he be so careless.??

don't worry it will gonna accepted, because the blocks in the FORM are electronically checked first if any wrong comes then 2nd step will be manually checking of FORMS.

but from my side what you do>>>>

if you haven't send your IIT form till, i must suggest you buy a new one..and then fill up the form .

and say him good luck for the exam.

Hi,

The scanner recognize the circles marked. It does not mind whether it is from black pen or pencil. They put the pencil condition so that if there is any mistake that can be corrected easily.
So no need to worry or you can contact them for the same reason. That will reduce your stress.

dear sir . if you have not submitted the application form then buy a new one and submit it after filling according to the rule of IIT.
but if you had already submitted the form then don't try to buy and submit another one as it will increase the chances of your application form's cancellation because IIT doesn't allow multiple form submission. just wait and see what happen. at first the application is checked by machine and is checked manually if any mistake is found . this is a matter of relief for you . you can't do much so just wait for your admit card. good luck

Thumbs up Re: IIT-JEE form filled up with black pen, instead of pencil?

hello sir

nothing will happen if you send your form with black pen filled as omr sheet will be recognised with a machine which will detect only the dark rounds as it is programmed it don't know whether the form is filled with black or blue or hb pencil

pencil is recomeded because any further changes are possible with only pencil other than pen so it doesn't matter with what you have darkened the rounds

for example there is a rule for aieee form to be filled with only black pen

and eamcet form is filled with black

and bits pilani form is filled with blue pen also

so by this you should get one thing darkening the rounds or circles is more important than with what you have blackened

if you don't want to take a chance then go with new form

as it is costly affair once think while making decision

all the luck to the iit aspirant in your family

best regards

~aditya~

You should apply through another application form as the earlier one will be rejected due wrting with pen in the form in place of pencil.
You don't have any other option.
good luck....
