IES stands for Indian Engineering Service. This Civil Service Examination conducts by the Union Public Service Commission every year. Eligibility Criteria: Nationality: The Candidate should be Indian. Other country candidates are not eligible write this exam. Educational Qualification: The candidate should complete the Graduation in Engineering from any recognized University with any stream. The final Year appearing candidates are eligible. No percentage required for this exam just pass the Graduation. Age limit: The candidate min age is 21 years. The candidate max age is 30 years. The candidate upper age relaxation for OBC is 3 years. And The upper age relaxation for SC\ST is 5 years. 10 years for the PH. No of Attempts: 4 for General 7 for OBC No limit for SC\ST. Gender: Both male & female candidates are eligible for this exam. IES stands for Indian Engineering Service conducted every year by UPSC for appointment of young Enginers in the top technical post under various Central Govt. Dept. of India.
The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation B.Tech. Degree in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. The candidate from any stream of B.Tech. can apply for IES but he/she has to write in any of the following branch in IES:- Mechanical/Civil/Electrical/Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Branch. There is nothing to worry ,I will provide you all the important information about the IES exams. IES stands for the Indian Engineering services examinations.This examination is also called engineering services examinations.It is conducted by the Union public service commission once every year. It is the most suitable and the best UPSC exams for an engineering aspirant. If you are a bachelor's degree holder in engineering/technology in any discipline from a recognized university then you are eligible for the IES exams.Even if you are in final year of bachelor's degree then also you are eligible for it. If you are from streams other civil,electrical,mechanical and electronics and communications then you have to select the subjects for the conventional papers from these core branches of engineering only. This was all about educational qualifications. Now coming to the age limitations. The general age limit is 21-30 years .OBC and SC/ST enjoys the benefit of age relaxation with three years and five years respectively. Similarly in case of no of attempts for this exam ,obc has seven chances ,sc/st candidate can give the exams that fall within age limit whereas general candidates have only four chances . In other words you can say that obc and sc/st candidates have an edge over general candidates. Nationality: You must be an Indian . Examination pattern: About the important dates for the exam: Generally the notification is out in the month of march and last date of receiving application is in april and the examination is held in june for three days. UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) conducts IES examination for the posts of CES(Central Engineering Services), IRSE(Indian Railway Service of Engineers), and MES(Military Engineering Services). The eligibility criteria required for the IES examination are prescribed as below:- * Completion of graduation degree in Engineering in anyone of these streams from any recognized college or university:- 1. Civil Engineering. 2. Mechanical Engineering. 3. Electrical Engineering. 4. Educational qualification :- -->>You should be passed out in 4 years Bachelor degree from recognized university. -->>Your degree should be approved from the AICTE. IES is the short form for Indian Engineering Service. It is an annual entrance exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. Indian Engineering Service is considered very reputed entrance exam.
Every year there are few hundred seats for which thousands of engineering graduates apply. The Indian Engineering Service is conducted to recruit engineerings for various government departments. Some of the departments are: Indian Railway Service of Engineers Central Engineering Service Indian Naval Armament Service Central Water Engineering Indian Defense Service of Engineers Central Power Engineering Service Above are some examples of the departments where candidates are recruited through the Indian Engineering Service exam. The role of selected candidate depends on the department he/she is selected. Eligibility 1. Only Indian Nationals are eligible for Indian Engineering Service. 2. 15-Apr-2013: IES 2013 Last Date of reciept of Application 28-Jun-2013: IES 2013 Date of Exam Commencement 16-Mar-2013: IES 2013 Date of Notification IES syllabus for General Ability: Part A- General English. The question paper in General English will be designed to test the candidate's understanding of English and workmanlike use of words. Part B- General Studies: The paper in General Studies will include knowledge of current events and of such matters as of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The paper will also include questions on History of India and Geography of a nature which candidates should be able to answer without special study. Eligibility Only Indian Nationals are eligible for Indian Engineering Service. Must have B.Tech degree in following stream: Civil Engineering Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electronics and Communication Engineering There is no percentage criteria.
