Hi,
BCA i.e Bachelor in Computer Application is an under graduation course, taken after passing 10(+2). MCA i.e Master in Computer Application is a master degree course taken after completing graduation course. The eligibility to pursue BCA and MCA is that: one must have maths in his/her 10(+2) with at least 50% marks. In some institutes, one can get admission in BCA without maths in 12th, but it creates problem in time of admission in MCA course, as it is mandatory to have maths in 12th to study MCA. If any candidate is interested with studying computer software applications then he/she can pursue these courses. It is better to complete MCA after doing BCA, as only doing BCA, the job opportunities are few. Whereas, an MCA qualified is regarded same as a B.Tech(CS/IT) qualified. There are jobs both in Govt and private sector for MCA qualified candidate. Reputed software companies absorb MCA candidates every year. So there are no big difference in a B.Tech(CS/IT) engineer and an MCA in case of job options. Best of luck.. |
