Sorry dear but you are probably out of date for this year's application process,and i think 272 is your AIR not a percentile score. If you want to start Ph.D in this year you should probably contact various univs around the country .Though you are eligible for applying in various CSIR sponsored institutes,but the institutes organise their own selection interviews and you have to qualify that interview.
But dont worry if you are not able to fill up the form in CSIR institues and at the same time do not want to persue your Ph.D from any normal univs, this time you should try next year because your gate certification is valid for two year.The application starts immeditely after the GATE result.
