1) Indian Engineering Services (IES) examination conducted by UPSC. Recruitment to Government positions in Engineering services in the following institutions is done through this examination

2) GATE, Graduate aptitude test in Engineering. Several Public sector undertakings conduct their recruitment. BHEL, PGCIL, POSOCO, NTPC, NHPC are some the PSUs.
GATE is conducted by IITs in various subjects.
