PREVIOUS YEAR QUESTION PAPER OF NDA(Army Trade) EXAM

Those candidate have completed 12th standard are eligible for NDA exam.But you must secure at least 50% marks.Commerce student are also eligible for NDA exam .(Indian Air Force)

Your age should be in between 16.5 to 19 years.Only unmarried male candidate are eligible for NDA exam.You must have citizenship of India.

The National Defense Academy is one of the premier training institute for the future cadets where you will get training for exactly three years after which you will get to join three academies:

• Indian Military Academy
  
• Naval Academy
  
• Air Force Academy

To get into the National Defense Academy you have to give an examination which is conducted by the UPSC twice a year. On getting selected you will be sent to the academy.

Since you want to join the military academy therefore after you have completed your training process you will be sent to the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun. You will get a degree too from the Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Now even to sit for the exam there are certain eligibility criteria which is very important to fulfill as otherwise you wont be allowed to sit for the exam in the first place. Let us discuss them one by one.

NDA Exam Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality: You should be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan or Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st of January 1962.

Gender: Only unmarried male candidates are allowed to give this examination. Girls are not allowed.

Educational Qualification: For the army wing you have to pass your class 12 exam from a recognized institution.

For the naval wing and air force wing you need to pass your class 12 exam with physics and mathematics.

Even final year students who are about to appear for the exam or awaiting the result are also eligible.

Age Criteria: Age should vary between 16.5 and 19 years.

Selection Procedure:

There are three stages or hurdles to cross to finally get into the academy you desire. They are:

• Written Examination
  
• Intelligence and Personality Test
  
• Medical Examination

Scheme of Examination:



Generally objective type questions comes for the exam and the paper is set in both hindi and english. Which means you will get the liberty to answer questions in the language of your choice.

Question Pattern:

Since mathematics carries 300 marks so this paper is of vital importance and relevant importance by you should be given to the following subjects: Arithmetic, Algebra, Mensuration, Statistics, Trigonometry and Geometry.

Paper II or the General Ability Section is further divided into two parts:- (i) English (ii) General Knowledge. The former carries 200 marks and the latter 400 marks.

For the general knowledge section stress should be given on the following subjects: General Science, Chemistry, Physics, History, Geography, Freedom Movement, Current Event etc.

For the detailed syllabus please refer to the first file attached along with the papers.

Next comes the interview session which is conducted by the Service Section Board. This session is basically to test your mental agility, to understand your mental framework, to test your basic intelligence. So various times you will be put on the spot. Right from group discussion to outdoor task or even lectures on any subject it can be anything and everything. This is a very crucial juncture of the selection procedure and always remember that 900 marks is at stake.

To get the NDA notifications you can always keep an eye on the leading newspapers and also on the UPSC websites. Generally the notifications are published once during the month of march or april and for the second time during the month of october or november.
