It was the dream of First Bishop of Syro Malankara Diocese of Marthandam Most Rev. Lawrence Mar Ephraem, to establish and provide higher educational opportunities to the young Men and Women. In order to come true the dream, former Bishop Most Rev. Yoohanon Mar Chrysostom founded and established

“MAR EPHRAEM COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY”

at Malakara Hills, Elavuvilai which is 4.5 k.m. from Marthandam.

To enable students to explore the resources available to them and make their experience of it unique, personal and internalized efforts are proposed. In short to undergo a transformational learning. We represent this through our core values. A new generation engineering college that stands out from the others with its commitment to quality was the prime aim. The affection to emerging technology leads to the formation of a technological based institute which brings a standardized education to the young generation.

Hostel

The Mar Ephraem campus offers excellent residential accommodation for its students. Modern amenities are available with attached restrooms, geysers and exhaust fans.

Indoor recreational facilities like:

Table tennis
Badminton
Gymnasium
Snooker
Other indoor games are also available…

Each hostel is provided with a separate dining hall, uninterrupted water supply, reading hall, round the clock internet connection, continuous medical and transport facilities. Canteen and fast food centers are open from 7 a.m to 10p.m.

Hostel facilities are earmarked in such a way, that the students can feel homely and pursue their studies in serene atmosphere. Information on hostel charges and vacancy position are available at the Hostel office
Hostel Admission:

Applications for admission to the hostels should be made in the prescribed form. A student seeking hostel admission must give an undertaking in writing that he/she will abide by the rules of the hostel. The parent or guardian should vouch the same.

All matters related to the Hostel admission are dealt by the Chief Warden. Hostel accommodation subject to availability.
Hostel Rules

A Campus Resident (CR) will have to stay in the room allotted to him/her with inmates
Campus Residents of each room are jointly held responsible for the furniture and other fittings, etc, and any damage to the hostel property is recoverable from them
Guests are strictly prohibited from entering the hostel premises without prior permission of the warden
Once a student has paid & accommodated, under no circumstance shall the money will be refunded
Students may be expelled from the hostel for violation of rules and misconduct such as:
Theft
Ragging
Abnormal behavior
Use of drugs and/or alcohol
Indiscipline
Non payment of fees etc.

NOTE** A student expelled on disciplinary grounds shall forfeit his/her fees and deposit.
