Is Mathematics compulsory to apply for IIT Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.?

Is Mathematics compulsory after completion of graduation in B.Sc Chemistry to fill the IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc) exam form? I have completed my B.Sc however, I did not have Mathematics as one of my major subjects.

Default Re: Is Mathematics compulsory to apply for IIT Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.?

JAM refers to Joint Admission Test and it is held for offering admission in M.Sc ( Master of Science ) in various discipline across different IITs.

The minimum education required for appearing in IIT JAM for admission to M.Sc. in Chemistry degree course is a bachelor's degree with at least 55% marks with Chemistry as major subject for three years/ six semesters from a recognized university. Also, you must have Mathematics as a major subject at Class 12th level academics.

So, having completed your B.Sc. degree in Chemistry, you are eligible for appearing in IIT JAM for admission in M.Sc. in Chemistry degree course if you have pursued Mathematics at your Class 12th level and have managed to secure at least 55% marks ( or 50% marks if you are a candidate belonging to reserved category ) in your graduation degree.

For more details regarding JAM eligibility, you can visit the link www.jam.iitb.ac.in.
