does minister for state mean minister for any state govt. I mean to say that like minister of state for defence can be a minister of any state of india. Do we have minister of state for defence in Karnataka or AP

Hi, Dear i would like to tell you that, every state has thier minister, minister of defence does not mean minister of india.

Dear friend, Minister of state doesn't mean minister of defence. Both are different. One thing must be clear to you that minister is itself as a owner of his surroundings, Whatever it may be. Minister of state has a full control over the state, Prime minster is the main leader of the country, Finance minister is reponsible for the financial issues to held in country, similarly defence minister plays its own role in his field.

Minister of state means that assistant minister to the cabinet minister on some particular ministry. State minister not belongs to cabinet unless mention.
Minister of state is not meaning that minister for some particular state.

As you mentioned that ,is there is a minister for defence in karnataka and ap ? the Answer should obviously NO (as I mention meaning of state minister above).
