you need to complete graduation and shold be between the age of 21 to 30 for general category and you have 3 yrs relaxation for sc/st canddates.

these are the eligiblity for IPS exams-

Age required-
21-30 years (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs )

Educational Qualifications -

Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

you can apply IPS through UPSC exam.

also Candidates appearing for Degree qualification are also eligible for appearing in the examination, however, they are supposed to submit proof of passing the requisite qualification along with with Detailed Application Form for Civil Services (Main) Examination.

This time UPSC pattern is changed and it is called as CSAT which is coming into effect from Civil Services Examination, 2011.and so there is no option subjects...

• Indian Polity and governance
• Economic and social development
• and General science.

It is of purely objective type and qualifying exam...

• General mental ability

• English language comprehension skills (Class X level)

It is of purely subjective type and followed by interview....

I.P.S i.e Indian Police Service

Minimum Qualification :- Graduation from any recognized university or equivalent examination and candidates who are appearing in the last semester of the examination can also appear for this examination.

Age limits :- The applicants(he/she) age should between 21 years to 30 years of age as on 1st August of the year of examination and relaxation is given to the various reserved categories.

Attempts :-Four attempts is given to the general candidates,Seven attempts is given to the OBC candidates and No limits for SC/ST category.

The Entrance Examination Consist of Preliminary,Main,Interview.

To become an IPS officer you must have cleared an exam called UPSC conducted by Union Public Service Commission. To apply for that exam educational qualification required for you is a degree. You must have completed your graduation for applying this exam and your age must be between 21 and 30 yrs.

The physical standards required for becoming an IPS is as follows

Height – Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm

Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.

Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. The correction is by lenses only. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic.

Blood pressure (High) – Age 23 – 123, age 24 – 124, age 25 –122, age 28 – 124, age 30 –125, age 32 – 126, age 34 – 127.

Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment shd not be more than 30 decibels.

Nasal- candidate should not stammer while speaking.

The IPS exam is conducted by UPSC every year for those candidates who want to become IAS, IPS, IFS, IES, etc. The minimum qualification required for the UPSC exam is graduation. A candidate appearing for this exam must be at least holding an under graduate degree from some recognized institution or university. Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply for this exam.

Candidate appearing for this exam must be of age between 21-30 years, while there is an age relaxation for 3 years and 5 years for OBC and SC/ST candidates respectively.

Minimum graduation degree in any stream is required for IPS exam.

IPS exam its exams are conducted by UPSC.one can only apply if its age is above 21 years....and you must have the postgraduate degree before applying .......anybody having the only bachelor degree will cannot apply for the exam...........

THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR JOINING IPS
the eligibility criteria for joining the Indian police Services is that an aspirant should be a minimum garduate from a recognised university or a college in India. He/She should be 21years to 30 yrs of age at the time of appearing in the UPSC held Civil Services Examination.

The UPSC stands for union public service commision. This body is responsible for conducting various union level examination. Of them one is the Indian Civil Services Examination, held each year. The examination is a Three tier process. The priliminary examination is objective in nature. it is a day process and held each other in the month of May. In August the resulte are declared and the successful candidates are called for appearing in the Mains examination, which is spread in the months of october and November. In december the UPSC brings out a notification for the next years examination. In March your Main examination result is declared. April-May you are called for the interviews

the ips exam is part of the upsc civil services exam through which selections are made in ias/ifs/ips and other services. the min eligibility to appear for ips exam is a grad. degree from a recognised univ. the age is b/w21-30 yrs and their are 4 attempts for gen.,7 attempts for obc,and unlimited attempts for sc/st till yhey attain the age of 30.

if the peole apply for the ips entrace test they must be graduate so they will apply in ips entrance test

IPS stands for indian police service . the exam of ips post is conducted by he upsc { union public service commission} . it is very prestigious post . the candidates who become a ips officer he/she having the responsibility to maintain law and order and preserve the people and nation .

I.P.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.
This is an national Level exam.

Eligibility Criteria:-
> Pass graduation from recognized university with minimum50% marks.
> Age limit
For open category:- 21-30 year
For OBC category :- 21-33 year
For ST/SC category:- 21-37 year
> Must be citizen of India.
