i am 19 old.how can i apply to become an airhostess?what are the minimum qualifications should i have?

Air Hostess needs to be a person with a pleasing personality as the basic job for them is to take care of the passengers on crew.
The basic educational qualification required for Air Hostess is-:

Either 10+2 or equivalent or a Graduation degree.

Age should be below 25 years with a minimum height of 154.5-157.5 cms tall.

The eyesight should be of 6/6 without glasses,though some it might vary from one Airlines to another.

Hindi,English is a must with any foreign language which will make an added advantage though not compulsory.

Please note that most of the Airlines give more preference to graduates rather than under-graduates.

Unmarried candidates are preferred mostly.


You can join an Air hostess-training programme offered by various institutes in major cities as well as small cities.

Generally the Air Hostess selection procedure consists of screening followed by a written examination(mostly objective type of questions)
followed by group Discussion and finally Personal Interview.

Educational: Eligibility for an airhostess-training programme is plus two/ or a graduate degree with a diploma/degree in Hotel Management or Tourism Management.

The aspirant must be eligible to hold an Indian Passport and should be below twenty-five years of age with a minimum height of 157.5 centimeters.

The weight should be in proportion to height. Further, one must be unmarried, with normal eyesight of 6/6 uncorrected vision in each eye.

Fluency in English, Hindi, and knowledge of an international language is an added advantage.

A flight purser, male counterpart of the airhostess has to be a graduate below 26 years, and have a minimum height of 163 cm with proportionate weight.

The applicant should be physically fit with a pleasing personality and clear complexion. After the initial screening of applicants is completed the airline company calls them for a written examination, usually of the objective type (multiple choice).

Those who qualify in the written examination have to appear for a group discussion followed by a personal interview of successful candidates.

If selected you will be on training for 2 to 3 months in which time you learn about service, grooming, safety and first aid, after which you are initially put on trainee flights.

The minimum qualification required to become a air hostess is:

The academic eligibility criteria varies from airline to airline. some airlines eligibility criteria follows that a candidate must have passed 12th and others require graduation at most. And there is one air hostess course too.

In addition to these qualification the other things needed are:
