General requirements:

• B.E. /B.Tech. /B.Sc.(Engg.) – Degree required

• For final-year students, the final result of 8th semester and mark-sheets must be presented at the time of interview.

• Minimum cut-off % of B.Tech varies for different PSUs Gen. Category:-60%-70%; Reserved Category:-50%-60%.

• Some PSUs allow only present final year students and last two year pass-outs. e.g. NTPC

You are Eligible But before Joining Any PSU Job (Under any Condition or if you cleared PSU Exam), you must be all clear with all your Backlogs.

Exam Introduction :- Students can Work in Public cum Government jobs which is under PSU's i.e Public Sector Undertaking.

Papers & Pattern :- The Written Exam Consists of Two Parts,General Aptitude & Technical Aptitude. General aptitude include Intellectual Potential test, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language.

Minimum Eligibility:

*you must have complete your graduation in any of the following field-B.Tech/B.Sc/M.Sc...

*you should not have any due backlogs..

*you must have 60% aggregate throughout your career..

NTPC

Eligibility:

• Students belonging to SC/ST/Physically Challenged categories (Visually Handicapped / Hearing Handicapped / Orthopaedically Handicapped) and pursuing full time degree course in Engineering in the disciplines of Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Computer Science, Electronics / Telecommunication from a college / university institute recognized by the Govt. of India and should be in the Third Year are eligible to apply for the exam with 65% marks.

• Age relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years OBC candidates

• Minimum 55% marks for SC/ST/Physically challenged persons

• Maximum age limit vary with category of posts as specified by NTPC from time to time through advertisements.

HPCL Recruitment of Officer Trainees- Engineering Disciplines

Eligibility:

• Qualifications – Full time Graduates in Engineering / Technology in Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical and Electronics & Telecommunications Discipline from a recognised Indian University / Institute.

• Max Age Limit.SC / ST: 30 years, after allowing age relaxation as per Govt. Directives

• OBC : 28 years , after allowing age relaxation as per Govt. Directives

• SC/ST candidates scoring minimum 50% (in aggregate) and OBC Candidates scoring minimum 60% (in aggregate) in the qualifying examination are eligible to apply.

The minimum qualification for you to sit in a PSU exam are given below:

Graduate degree in either B.E./B.tech/B.Sc(Engg).
If you are in the final semester of Engineering then your mark-sheets and final results should be ready by the time of interview.

Age Limit is between 21-30 years.

There are three stages of this Exam which are given as follows:
1. Written Exam which consists of objective type questions.
2. Personal Interview and Group Discussion rounds.
3. Medical Examination, which is conducted once you qualify the above two exams.

The Minimum Qualification for PSU:-

-The candidate must be an Indian National

Firstly it is important to understand that there is no common PSU Exam. There are more than 150 Public Sector Undertakings in the country. Each company conducts its own entrance exam for the recruitment.

However you will find that requirement criteria is generally the same for all companies. The only noticiable change would be in the exam pattern. Some public sector companies prefer to conduct a written test. But on the other hand there are some companies that prefer candidates to appear for General Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE).

Now what you should do is check out either the official website of each PSU or the employment dailies for the notification of the exam by the company. First check whether there are any vacancies for the candidates belonging to your Engineering stream.

For example if you have completed B.Tech in Mechanical, check whether there are openings for Mechanical Engineers in the Public Sector Undertaking. Then only you should apply for the entrance exam.

Earlier PSU used to conduct its own written tests and than conduct the Interviews for those candidates who cleared the written tests.

But now almost all the PSU has decided not to conduct the written test and shortlist the candidates based on the scores obtained in the GATE exams

GATE exams is conducted by IIT
Minimum Educational Qualifications required to sit in the GATE exams is BE/BTECH PASS.Even Final year BE/BTECH student can apply for the GATE exams.

Apart from GATE scores maximum age to apply for the PSU may vary from 27 years to 30 years

Some PSU also put the minimum marks criteria in BE/BTECH which may be 60% or even 65% marks
