VAO Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

VAO stands for Village Administrative Officers. This exam is conducted by the Tamilnadu Public Service Commission. The notification of this exam is released in two parts:-

• For SC/ST Candidates
• For the rest of the Categories

Out of all the total vacant seats available following are kept reserved for the following categories:-

• 30% of vacancies- For Women
• 5% vacancies- For Ex-Servicemen
• 3% vacancies- For Differently Abled (Orthopedic)

To sit for the VAO Exam you must have a S.S.L.C pass certificate to apply for this exam. In other words, if you are eligible to apply for higher studies in colleges & diploma courses with the base of your educational qualification then you may apply for this exam .

Your age should not be lower than 21 years when applying for this exam and it should not cross the upper age limit of 30 years either. For the reserved category candidates the upper age limit has been relaxed and it is 40 years for them.

You will be recruited in Tamilnadu on getting selected and so it is important to know how to read and write in that language. This is an important criteria which needs to be satisfied if you wish to apply for this post.

But for the ones who dont know this language they can still go ahead and give the exam. But if they gets selected then they have to sit for a Tamil exam which is conducted by TNPSC and pass in it.

Written Exam Pattern:-

• General Knowledge- From this section 100 questions will be asked. 150 marks have been allotted for this section and the paper will be set in both languages, English & Tamil.
  
• General Tamil/General English- From this section 100 questions will be asked. 150 marks have been allotted for this section and you have the option to choose any language you want when answering the questions.

If you have 12th standard OR graduation degree then you are applicable for VAO exam but you age should be in between 22 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide as per govt rule But you must know the Tamil language.
