Hello Friends!
Once you are recruited, you will be a trainee for 3 or 6 months. Then they will fix your position. In the training period, they will embed the software platforms within you. so if u are blank intially it wont matters.later you will be developed by them... All the best |

NO, you can join the software field without being a programmer but knowing a little as a starter will help you grow you fast in the company. So, try to atleast know the basic programming and coding languages like C and C++. As you will spend time as a software engineer in the company you will learn things automatically. Best wishes.. |

Re: Is it necessary to become a Programmer initially in Software Field?
No it is not necessary to be a programmer. You have various options like you can work in market research section were you could do secondary research to find out opportunities for selling the products of the company. You can also opt to work in the QA section if interested. Also there is a testing department. You need to choose based on what job interests you.

Re: Is it necessary to become a Programmer initially in Software Field?
Dear friend,
It is not hard and fast that you should be a fine programmer at the initial stage or as a fresher. You may join in the technical support or maintenance sector and after some years of experience you can join as a software developer if you want. But the basic demand in this software industry is for the software programmers in different computer platforms or computer languages. Good luck!! |

it is true that for entering a software company, you need to have a programming aptitude. this is why mostly all the software companies go for recruiting students from B.E. or B.Tech background, as they learn programming in their curriculum. Although software companies look for people with programming skills, i must tell you that there are many reputed companies like GOOGLE, YAHOO, MICROSOFT, FACEBOOK, etc, which donot necessarily take people with programming background. those people who fulfill their aptitute round and prove themselves with good logics are recruited for positions like business analysers, market analysers, etc. so it totally depends on which software company you want to go for. I would suggest you to go through the company's work profile and requirements and then apply accordingly keeping in mind your work skills and interest. All the Best! |

Re: Is it necessary to become a Programmer initially in Software Field?
Many freshers go to colleges without any knowledge of the programming language.
they come out after their course with full of confidence and full of knowledge. this shows that it is not necessary that is saying you that you must have knowledge of the particular programming language. but in these days in 10 th standerd c and c++ language are exist in their courses. so student have some knowledge of the programming language. so basic is needed not so much knowledge. best of luck |

Re: Is it necessary to become a Programmer initially in Software Field?
Yes, it is necessary to know or learn programming languages to enter into the software domain. If you don't know how a particular block of code works in a particular program you will eventually become useless in the field of software domain. so it is better to learn some programming before trying to enter the the market.
