Percentage required in BCom(Accountancy) to become an Income Tax officer?
Sir/Madam, I want to become an Income Tax Officer. So, I would like to know that what percentage is required in Graduation as I am doing BCom Honours in Accountancy. Kindly let me know about the percentage asap. Thank you!

As far as my best knowledge is concerned, there is no certain minimum percentage criteria is required in order to become an Income Tax Officer.
The basic educational qualification required to be eligible for appearing in this recruitment is given below. <> Candidates must have completed Graduation in any discipline successfully in order to be eligible. <> Hence, there is no certain percentage criteria required to be eligible. <> Upper age should not exceed 30 years in order to be eligible. Of course there is an age relaxation applicable for reserved category candidates as per the government norms. Hence if you meet the above mentioned criteria then I am sure you are certainly eligible. |

You need to have 50% marks and can have a graduation degree from any stream. The selection takes place through an examination- SSC CGL.

To become an Income Tax Officer, first you have to enter in cadre of Income Tax Inspector or Tax Assistant and then after you can get promotion to Income Tax Officer through departmental examination.You will have to qualify the selection stages to become an Income Tax Inspector after completion of graduation.
Eligibility of Income Tax Inspector - You must have passed graduation in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized university. - Your age must be between 18 to 27 years. Age relaxation applicable as per government norms. Selection Stages - Written Exam - Personal Interview - Skill Test Entrance Exam Pattern - Two separate sections in the written examination are Tier I and Tier II. - Candidates qualified in Tier I are only eligible to appear in Tier II examination. To become Income Tax Officer, you have to crack SSC CGL Exam Tier I and II.
And to apply for SSC CGL exam, you must have secured at least 60% in graduation. If you have at least 60% marks in graduation i.e. B.Com, then you can apply for SSC CGL exam. After qualifying Tier I and Tier II, you will be eligible for Income Tax Officer post. Age limit is 21 to 27 years.

You just need to have passing percentage of marks in bachelor's degree to become Income Tax Officer.
1. A candidate can become Income tax officer by qualifying all stages of Civil Services examination and joining Indian Revenue Service IT. 2. Bachelor's degree is the minimum qualification required for this exam. 3. You must be between 21-32 years to apply for this exam. |

Percentage required in B.com accountancy to become an income tax officer :-
To become an income tax officer, you should qualify in SSC CGL exam. So if you once successfully complete SSC CGL Tier 1 and 2 exam and interview exam then you are eligible for Income Tax Officer post . Minimum qualification required to apply for this examination is completed a degree with 50% marks from a recognised institution. Your age should be in between 21 to 27 years . Age relaxation:- Upper Age relaxation for OBC is up to 3 years . For SC / St, it is up to 5 years. For PWD, it is up to 10 years. |

Eligibility criteria to become an Income Tax Officer:
You need to be a citizen of India. You need to be a graduate in any discipline of your choice from a recognised University. Your age should not be less than 18 years when applying for this exam and for general category candidates the upper age limit is 27 years. The upper age limit is relaxed for the following categories such as SC and ST for 5 years and OBC candidates for three years. There is no percentage criteria. |

Percentage required in B.com accountancy to become an income tax officer :-
The income tax officer exam is conducted by the staff selection commission. And for this you need graduation with minimum Fifty Percent marks. And your age should be between 18 to 27 years . After the 27 you cannot apply for the SSC exam. And there is relaxation for the reserved categories. And for this you should give the written exam and after clear the written exam you should give the interview. |

To become an officer in Income Tax you have to appear and qualify in Civil Service Examination or Combined Graduate Level Examination. The examination are conducted by UPSC and SSC respectively.
The common eligibility to appear in examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree from a recognised university. No limitation on discipline of bachelor degree. Age criteria varies for examination. For more information about examination visit at www.upsc.gov.in or www.ssc.nic.in. |

For becoming Income Tax officer,
The percentage required in graduation is 40%. You have to apply for Civil Services examination which is conducted by UPSC every year. After qualifying all three stages that is preliminary, mains and interview join Indian Revenue Service. |

I.R.S stands for Indian Revenue Service and you have to appear and qualify in all stages of Civil Service examination for the recruitment.
The eligibility to appear in the examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree from a recognised university. The age limit is 21-32 years with relaxation for reserved category. So, you are eligible to appear in examination with your mentioned qualification. |

Income Tax officer belong to Indian Revenue Service. IRS officers are selected through Civil Services examination. So, to become IRS officer, you need to qualify all stages of this exam and secure a rank that can help you to get this service.
Candidate must have minimum academic qualification of bachelor's degree to apply for Civil Services examination. The age limit is 21-32 years. You should have 40% marks or more in bachelor's degree to apply for this exam. |

For direct recruitment as a Income Tax Officer, you are required to join Indian Revenue Service by qualifying the Civil Services examination held by UPSC once every year.
Also, the minimum education required for appearing in the Civil Services examination is a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Marks in the degree does not matters for the eligibility of a candidate. So, you do not have to be worried about the minimum marks which you need to secure in your graduation degree i.e; B.Com to become eligible for Income tax officer. In government job entrance exams:
~~Percentage required to apply for exam is 40% or more. ~~Bachelor of Commerce candidate should have at least 40% marks to apply for examinations like SSC CGL or Civil Services exam. ~~For officer post in Income Tax office, you need to apply for Civil Services exam and for Sub Inspector post, you can apply for SSC CGL exam. |

As far as you are concerned about becoming an Income Tax Officer, then for the same you need join the IRS (Indian Revenue Service) wing of Civil Services by qualify the Civil Services examination held by UPSC once every year.
Further, the basic education required to appear in the same examination is a bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Marks and stream of academic degree does not in the case of eligibility of a candidate for appearing in the same examination. So, in order to be eligible for the Civil Services examination, you just need to pass in your B.Com degree course.
