For PhD for iit you have to go each iit website and apply for the forms available in admission section of their website.I am giving you a reference website for IIT Kanpur

For doing PhD in IIT, whether is it required to qualify GATE??I have completed my Master in Environmental Engineering and have 7 Years Industrial Experience in the fielf of Manufacturing/Health Safety/Quality Engineering, whether admission in made on GATE it is quiet little difficult for me to remember all technical once again, Is the work experience considered for doing PhD??Please confirm.

The eligible candidates will be called for personal interview in Delhi Technological University for which no TA/DA will be admissible. The selection for full time Ph.D. Scholars will be made by the University Research Council comprising of the Deans and all HODs chaired by the nominee of the Vice-Chancellor. The selected candidates will be required to pay the fees etc. after getting intimation of their selection. Candidates are requested to contact teachers of DTU or Heads of concerned departments before selecting their area of research work for Ph.D. Degree. The candidates may see the Website before submitting their applications. Selection Procedure for NRIs, Foreign Nationals and Person of Indian Origin:- Students apply through Ministry of Human Resource Development of under a Cultural Exchange Scholarship Program of Government of India. Seats: The total number of seats for full time Ph.D program is 50 (Fifty) for all the 4 years. Candidates applying for the PhD Programme Regular/NHTRA/Project General-Category Candidates A PG Degree is a must. Gate is not required. We are looking for candidates with 67% in their UG and above 75% in their PG. However, a very good score in UG% can offset a poor score in PG% as follows: UG% >= 60 PG% >= 67 (PG% -67) + (UG% - 60) >= 15 Regular/NHTRA/Project OBC/Physically Challenged Candidates We are looking for candidates with 67% in their UG and 72% in their PG. However, a good score in one can offset a poor score in the other as follows: UG% >= 60 PG% >= 64 (PG%-64) + (UG%-60) >= 15 Regular/NHTRA/Project SC/ST Candidates We are looking for candidates with 62% in their UG and 63% in their PG. However, a good score in one can offset a poor score in the other as follows: UG% >= 60 PG% >= 60 (PG%-60) + (UG%-60) >= 5 External/Part-time Candidates Minimum of two years post-qualifying degree work experience General category applicants: UG% >= 65, PG% >= 70 Reserved category applicants: UG% >= 60, PG% >= 65 Gate qualification is not required all the best. |

the procedure and selection criteria for the Quality Improvement Program from the prestigious IITs and IIsc is- ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 1. Only candidates (such as lecturers, readers, asst. professors, associate professors and professors) with a minimum of three-years teaching experience as full-time regular/permanent teachers of AICTE approved Degree level Engineering Institutions, National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and National Institutes of Technical Teachers‟ Training and Research (NITTTRs) as on September 30, 2012 (Sunday) are eligible to apply. Admissions to Ph.D. degree programme under QIP are open only to candidates with a basic degree in Engineering or Technology or Architecture or such other qualification. 2. The candidate should satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria prescribed by the individual Department (and/or the Institution) to which admission is sought. 3. Computer Programmers, Systems Programmers, Workshop Staffs, Guest Lecturers, Visiting Lecturers, Teaching Assistants, Ad-hoc/Contract or Part-time Teachers, Research Engineers, Scientific Officers, Technical Assistants, and other such categories of staff are not eligible. 4. Teachers of the Major QIP Centres are not eligible. 5. Teachers of the Minor QIP Centres are eligible to apply to Major QIP Centres. 6. Teachers of the minor QIP Centres are permitted to apply for a field of specialization available in another minor QIP centre, which is not available in their parent department on the specific recommendations of the Department‟s and Institute‟s Head stating that a faculty in the particular specialization is required for their Institution. Candidates completed M.Tech under QIP programme can not apply before completion of the bond period at their parent Institute. PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSIONS UNDER QIP 1. Short-listing of the candidates will be done first by the office of the Principal Coordinator, then finally at the Department/Institute concerned. Interview letters will be sent to the short-listed candidates by the Department/institute concerned. 2. Interviews will be conducted in the Departments at the individual Institutions. Schedule of interviews is provided in the next page. Please note that No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for attending the Interviews 3. Selections will be made by the National QIP Coordination Committee based on the recommendations of various institutions. 4. Final Results will be available at the web site: http://www.qip.cce.iisc.ernet.in 5. Admission letters will be issued to the selected candidates by the respective QIP centres or Academic sections of the institutions offering admission. |

All comments are wrong here...No need to have GATE/ JMET score for candidates having MBA after B.Tech...dept. conducts own test and interview..it is not mandatory to be a faculty of AICTE approved college..check website of respective IIT
