Eye-sight criteria for custom officer exam:-

Uncorrected without glass – 6/12

Corrected with glass – 6/6

Limits of Myopia – 3.5

Limits of Hypermetropia – +2.5

Binocular vision III

The Candidates those who are intrested to become a Customs Officer, the Candidates will have to appear for the Civil Services Examination.The Civil Service Exam is conducted in two parts, They are the Preliminary and Main Exam.

The eligibility :

The candidates should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognize university , The candidates should have scored 55% in aggregate .
The age limit is below 19- 28 years candidates can apply .
The candidates should be a Citizen of India.

Dear we are providing you the detailed information about the Customs Officer. For Assistant Commissioner in Indian Customs you need to give an exam called " Civil's ". For Inspectors in Customs, you need to give " SSC CGL " Exam.

And coming to Physical standards especially Vision standards you can have a look on the below standards.

Physical Standards for Assistant Commissioner :

Eye sight : 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye

6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.

Physical Standards for Inspector :

Eye Sight : 6/6 and 6/9 distant vision

0.6 and 0.8 Near Vision.

Height standards :

Minimum Acceptable height : 152 cms.

The function of the Customs Department is to control the import and export of goods with the purpose of collecting duty and maintain a check on the entry of prohibitory and restricted goods.

In order to become a Custom Officer, aspirants have to sit for Civil Services Examination which is conducted by UPSC every year. The Civil Service Examination is conducted into two different parts: I) Preliminary exam and II) Main exam.

ELIGIBILITY :

** A Bachelor degree is must with 55% from recognized university.

** Age: 18+ and not more than 27 years, 5 years of relaxation to SC/ST/OBC candidates.

** Aspirants has to be Indian Citizen

** Must posses a vehicle license

** Should be physically and mentally fit.

** Should not hold any criminal background or any kind of drug abuse

** Eye sight (with or without glasses)

> > Distant vision : 6/6 in one and 6/9 in other eye.

> > Near Vision : 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in other eye.

** Height should be 165 cms and weight should be proportionate to height.

I too wish to be a customs officer but i have short sight problem for my vision and i am wearing a specs of power -2.5 for both the eyes. Shall i am eligible for it? Please answer me..

I am having no vision in my left eye. It means I can only see with one eye( right eye). Am I eligible to become a coustem officer and in revenue department , PSU's can anyone please help me with that ?
