iist is a very good and reputed college. infact it is comparable to iit. the placements of iist are excellent. mostly students get placed from there. the payscale is also very good. you can expect atleast 3 lakh per annum job from there. so, doing undergraduation from iist will be best for you.

IIST has only had one round of placements till now. It was launched in 2007.

Most students are probably just absorbed into ISRO - though don't imagine that everyone will get an awesome position :P

The package won't be as high as what you'd get in IITs, BITS campuses etc...where loads of companies visit

I am a student currently studying in 10th standard in DElhi. I am planning to do an undergraduate course fronm IIST (physical Sciences).

The IIST, Kerla is most reputed institution which is direct related to the ISRO. And the IIST direct give offer to the some good students to join the research in ISRO and also provide the placement facility to the students to place in the companies. And the minimum package may be start from 5 lakhs and maximum is not sure because that depend upto the candidates interview.
