Courses and Admission procedure in IIST
IIST offers various graduation and post graduation courses in the field of Space Science and Technology. It also provides ample scope for doing research in this field through Doctoral and Post-Doctoral programmes. Admission criteria for each of the courses will be different like UGC-NET (JRF) qualification for Doctoral programmes, valid GATE score for M.Tech courses etc.

Admission Details
The application forms can be downloaded from the IIST website www.iist.ac.in. Except for the post doctoral programme, all the other courses offered by the IIST involves a written test and an interview as part of the admission procedure.
Aspirants seeking admission as research scholars under the post-doctoral programme, are required to submit a research proposal along with their CV. The minimum eligibility required is a first class or equivalent in the Master’s degree or a Ph.D in the relevant field
Qualification in the National Eligibility Test (JRF) is a must for selection to the Doctoral programme. Research experience, score of National Eligibility Test and other academics records will also be taken into consideration. Each of the areas offered under the doctoral programme requires graduation in specific streams.
IIST offers Regular students as well as DoS/ISRO empoyees to its postgraduate courses. For admissions under the DoS/ISRO, candidates have to be nominated by the units / centres under DoS/ISRO. All the candidates are required to have a valid GATE score in the relevant areas.
Admissions to the Bachelor of Technology courses are through the IIST Admission Test (ISAT).Details regarding syllabi, eligibility etc can be accessed from the IIST web portal.
The format prescribed by the IIST for filling the application form should be clearly adhered and the eligibility criteria should also be met for admission to the courses.
