i am a 3rd semister student persuing electrical engineering from west bengal. is it possible to crack without coaching classes? if yes, will you plz tell me the best books of all the subjects of EE with their authors name?

All the GATE toppers or all the qualified GATE aspirants are not the trained persons. Some of them come from their own hard work.

Self study is a good option only if you are good at studies
it fetches you if you have strong determination towards studies. and also you should have a quality to grasp things without a professional teacher.

you should also not get attracted towards friends,Films,Facebook,etc., time waste activities.

you should be able to manage your academic studies and also your GATE preparation simultaneously.

I tell you one thing clearly on a whole per day you should be 8-9 hours with perfect concentration. Its not a simple thing without any help(Coaching Center)

if you can do all the above things then its not tough to crack any Entrance examination.

The very few advantages that you will miss without a coaching centers are as follows :-
->you will miss the guidance towards the entrance examination.
->If you choose a wrong step in isolation then its tough to come back again with self study, This will not happen in Coaching center.
->if you once take a wrong step then you can get back the time wasted.
->the competition exposure can't be tasted if studied in Isolation.
->The Mock Tests class tests, Unit Tests etc., will be missed out by you if you take the path of self study.

The valuable thing in your whole preparation is your Study material. The guidance regarding Material can't be done with a single opinion/suggestion.

for each and every topic there is a specialist book. In all books you will find the matter but the book which will satisfy your needs for GATE Entrance exam .

Be perfect in your academic studies almost everything will be covered in that only. Additionally you need to concentrate on Multiple choice format. This is provided by many publishers like Selfgoers,Hi tech study material for GATE .

But in my opinion the best material is provided by ACE Coaching center.
To get that privately is tough but try for it. Its really worthy.

And one final suggestion from me if you have good financial position don't hesitate to take coaching as your target should Be IIT for that a right guide is necessary Make that guide as your Coaching center.
but if you're position is not that good , The will power will help you. Explore the different ways to crack gate through self study.

Cracking a competitive exam do not need any coaching if you are well versed in your subjects as they will ask only those questions related to your field.If you listen in your class and understand the concepts then there is no need at all.
All you need to do is concentrate in your syllabus and practice more papers
