Im studing in mech. engg diploma, I want to know that can I give IIT entrance. If possible tell about its eligibility.

Hello,
Diploma holders(3 years) from a recognized by AICTE or a state Board of technical education, institute can go for the IIT-JEE exam provided they satisfy the other eligibility conditions.

Eligibility criteria-:

The candidate must have passed the Qualifying Examination(in your case diploma) for the first time, on or after October 1, 2009 or appearing in 2011.

Age criteria- For GEN and OBC categories,candidates born on or after October 1, 1986 are eligible to appear in JEE-2011. SC, ST, and PD candidates who are born on or after October 1, 1981 are eligible to appear in JEE-2011.

Minimum marks in the qualifying examination- For GEN/OBC-min 60% and for SC/ST/PD min of 55% in the respective qualifying examinations.


The important dates are-:

Closing of On-line application process Wednesday December 15, 2010

Start of Off-line application sale Friday November 12, 2010

Last date of receipt completed JEE application form Monday December 20, 2010

Joint Entrance Examination Sunday April 10, 2011

Declaration of Results Wednesday May 25, 2011.

You are eligible for IIT JEE,but marks should be greater than 50% and diploma college govt approved...

you are eligible for iit 10th marks 60 percentage up and born on or after 1octomber 1986

Yes, you can write IIT-JEE...... and you will be admitted to 2nd year directly.

yes ofcourse, you can give iit jee exam. any student who have done diploma from an government recognized institute is eligible to give the exam. but there is no lateral entry in iit. so you will have to take admission in first year only.

i am a diploma holder in ece branch pass out in 2011 batch.can i give the IIT exam held in 2012 or tells after one year gap.please give the ans. as soon as possible please sir..........

if you have done 3 or 4 year Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state Board of technical education.
you are eligible for exam but you need to have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination either 10 or both 10th and 12th

You have mentioned that you have done your diploma.
You are eligible to appear in the Entrance exam provided the following criteria:
1. You should pass your class10 from a recognized board with at least 60%.
2. Same percentage required in your 10+2 or in your Diploma.
There is a 5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST and OBC.

SIR,i am a diploma holders(D.M.E) from a recognized by AICTE but my secondary exam result is 53%(OBC).i can a one chance for IIT-JEE eam.

Hi

Yeah sure you can do B.Tech from the IIT JEE, after you have done your Diploma. However I must tell you that lateral entry is neither allowed in IIT's not in any other government colleges.

So you have the only option of sitting for the JEE exam which is conducted to select candidates for the B.Tech courses in the IIT's.

1.Eligibility for JEE says that you must be a 12th pass with minimum 60% aggregate in PCM and overall.

2.Only two consecutive attempts would be given to you.

So if you fulfill the above criteria, then please fill the Online IIT JEE for Here.

The exam would be held on 8th April 2012 (SUNDAY).

Diploma program are for three years ,if you completed your degree from the institution which is approved by AICTE &govt recognised.
then you can eligible for the IIT jee.
you must have 60% marks in your degree program

yes, my friend you can appear in IIT-JEE exam after completion of diploma.
But in this case you have to take admission in B.tech course in very first year.
So, if you agree to do this then you can go for it.

Eligibility for IIT-JEE exam:-

1.Candidates must have complete the 12th in science stream having physics, chemistry and maths or its equivalent..
Or, after completion of diploma course one can apply for IIT-JEE exam.

2.Candidate must have 60% aggregate in 12th or its equivalent.
3.One can appear in IIT-JEE exam for twice in consecutive manner.
Like- When he/she is appearing in 12th or final year of diploma course and the next year after passing 12th or its equivalent course.
4..Age should not be more than 25 years.

These are the eligibility criteria you have to fulfill..

Eligibility For IIT JEE

According to the guidelines laid by the IIT..a candidate must fulfill the following criterion in order to appear for IIT JEE 2012..

1) A candidate must be a 12th pass out or equivalent with 60% aggregate in Physics,Chemistry and Maths in 12th boards..

2) The candidate must have passed out 12th in 2011 or appearing in 2012..

Since,you are a diploma holder which can be considered as an equivalent of 12th hence you are definitely eligible for appearing in IIT JEE 2012..

For the minimum qualification..in place of the 12th percentage..your percentage in diploma shall be taken into consideration..

This means that you must have scored an aggregate of 60% in your diploma and should have completed your diploma in 2011 or in the final year of diploma which is going to finish in 2012..

The last date for applying for IIT JEE 2012 is 15th December,2012

The IIT JEE 2012 is going to be conducted on 8th April,2012..

The cost for the IIT JEE forms is as follows :-

For General Male Candidates : Rs 1800

For OBC/SC/ST males: Rs 1000

For all female candidates : Rs 200

IIT conducts joint entrance exam for admitting the aspirant to the engineering courses in the IIT branches. The qualification required for applying for the exam are
the aspirant should have completed anyone of the following
1. The aspirant should have did their 12th standard with physics, mathematics as their subject
diploma course of 3 years duration from a university recognised by aicte
joint entrance wing exam conducted by the national defence academy.
Higher secondary vocational examination.
The general category aspirant should have secured 60% . Where as for sc and st the marks required is 55%.
The aspirant can appear in the exam for a consecutive two years. The aspirant should have not completed 25 years of age.
If you are got above the required percentage and within age limit then you are eligible.

you can definitely sit for IIT JEE exam, provided you meet following criteria,

I.I.T-J.E.E exam is conducted by Indian Institute Of Technology.

You can apply after passing 12th with Physics, Chemistry and maths with minimum 50% marks.
Or you can apply after passing Regular three year diploma approved by A.I.C.T.E.

So you are eligible for I.I.T-J.E.E exam in 2012.

IMPORTANT DATE FOR IIT-JEE EXAM

Closing of Online Application Process :- Saturday, December 10, 2011
IIT JEE 2012 Examination Day :- Sunday, April 8, 2012

If you complete diploma in mechanical engineering which is approve by A.I.C.T.E then you are eligible for I.I.T.

For admissions in I.I.T you have to qualify I.I.T-J.E.E entrance exam.

I.I.T-J.E.E exam is conducted by Indian Institute of Technology once in a year.

It is a national level exam.

Eligibility criteria:-
> Pass 12th with Physics, chemistry and maths with minimum 60% marks.
Minimum 55% Marks for ST/SC
> Must be above 17 year and below 25 year.
