Postal Assistant Exam Details:-

Department of Postal Govt. of India conducts an examination to recruit Postal Assistants and Sorting Assistants. They publishes a notification whenever there is a vacancy available and interested candidates are asked to submit their application forms. An examination is taken to select the deserving candidates. To give this exam following criteria needs to be satisfied:-

$$ Educational Qualification:- To give this exam firstly you need to be a higher secondary passed out or its equivalent of a recognized board from a recognized institution.

You need to secure minimum 60% of marks at 10+2 level if you are a general category candidate.

$$ Percentage Relaxation:- The reserved category candidates will get percentage relaxation. For the OBC candidates the percentage to secure is 55% of marks and for SC/ST candidates it is 45% of marks at 10+2 level.

$$ Age Limit:- While applying for this exam your age should not be less than 18 years since that is the lower age limit for giving this exam binding on all categories.

The upper age limit for giving this exam is 27 years. This rule is applicable only on the general category candidates.

$$ Proficiency in Local Language:- To avoid communication problem with the residents of the postal circle concerned you need to know the local language of that postal circle in question.

If you have studied hindi at matriculation level or above then also you can overcome communication problem.

$$ Written Examination Pattern:- For the exam you will have to answer 100 questions and the total time limit for this is two hours.

Mainly objective questions will be asked and each questions will carry one mark each and so the total marks allotted for this exam is also 100.

You need to put more stress on the following subjects to score good marks in the exam:- General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning and English.

$$ Computer Test:- You need to sit for a computer test/typing test after sitting for the written exam. This exam is equally important and you need to score high marks in this exam too. Total time limit for this exam is thirty minutes.

$$ Cost Of Application Forms:- Forms will be available in the head offices and other post offices in the postal circle concerned. For general category candidates the amount payable is Rs. 200.
