Postal Assistant Exam Details:-

~Department of Postal Govt. of India conducts the Postal Assistant Exam and Sorting Assistant Exam. Whenever there is a vacancy for this post, a notification is published and interested candidates needs to submit their application forms. To give this exam following eligibility criteria needs to be satisfied:-

~The minimum qualification required for this post is that you need to be higher secondary passed out or its equivalent from a recognized school or institution. At 10+2 level you need to score not less than 60% of marks in aggregate.

~There is percentage relaxation for the reserved category candidates. For SC/ST candidates the percentage to secure is minimum 45% of marks at 10+2 level and for OBC candidates it is 50% of marks in aggregate.

~Your age should not be less than 18 years when applying for this exam. The upper age limit for general category candidates is 27 years. There is age relaxation for the reserved category candidates.

~So that you do not face any communication problem when interacting with the residents of the postal circle concerned you need to know the local language of the State of the postal circle in question.

~Since Hindi is the official language of our country you can use this language as the common medium of communication. So it will do if you have studied hindi at matriculation level or above and therefore you are quite well versed in this language.

~For the exam stress on the following sections: General Knowledge, Mathematics, English and Reasoning & Analytical Ability. Questions for the exam will be mainly objective types and there will be four options for each question and you have to choose the right one.

~The total time limit for the exam is 120 minutes and within this short span of time you will have to answer 100 objective questions of 100 marks each. Each question will carry one mark each. Questions will be mainly conceptual type.

Application forms for the exam will be available from the head post offices and other post offices in the postal circle concerned. Cost of the application form is Rs. 50. Examination fee is Rs. 200 and it need not be paid by the SC/ST and physically handicapped candidates.
