IPS is one of the civil service of government of India. To become an IPS officer, you have to appear in Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC{Union Public Service Commission} every year generally in the month of May.

Eligibility Criteria :

IPS - Indian Police Service, to become an IPS officer, one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.

Qualification for IPS, Civil Service Exam:-

-The candidate must be an Indian National
-Should have either appeared for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University.

The next step for you to become IPS officer would be college. You will have to complete college and obtain a bachelor degree. It could be any bachelor degree. You are free to choose the stream.

After graduating you can apply for the Indian Police Service. A bachelor degree is main educational requirement for the Indian Police Service. Apart from that you will need to meet certain physical requirements as well.
