Procedure and required qualification to apply for IPS?
My Name is Yatish Poojary. I have completed my HSC(commerce stream) from Maharashtra board.I wish to apply for IPS, can you help me know the qualifications and the procedure required for its admission.

Hi,
IPS i.e. INDIAN POLICE SERVICE IPS is one of the civil service of government of India. To become an IPS officer, you have to appear in Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC{Union Public Service Commission} every year generally in the month of May. Eligibility Criteria : You should have completed Bachelor degree course in any discipline from recognized university. Final candidates of above such program are also eligible to apply for IPS. To become an IPS officer your Age should ne in between 21 to 30years Both male & female candidates are eligible to become an IPS officer. You must have an Indian citizenship. Indian Police Service (IPS) exam s conducted through UPSC every year for this you have to appear CSAT exam & have to crack the exam, There are some eligibility criteria to appear this exam. The candidates should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognize university , The age limit is 21 - 30 yrs , there is a relaxation for reserved candidates.The candidates should be a citizen of India. IPS - Indian Police Service, to become an IPS officer, one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.
Qualification for IPS, Civil Service Exam:- -The candidate must be an Indian National -Should have either appeared for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University. -Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate -Should possess good Physical Fitness with prescribed minimum physical requirement such as:- HEIGHT:- General Male 165cm and Female-150cm while SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm CHEST:-Male should have 85cm while Female79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases. The IPS Civil Service exam can be applied through both off line and on line mode. Through off line mode the application can be obtained from GPO of all districts by paying requisite fee. Through on line the application can be obtained from the official web site of UPSC i.e. http://www.upsconline.com and the same can be submitted on line after paying requisite fees for the exam through SBI Net Banking/Debit card/cash on counter. HELLO DEAR
To become an IPS (Indian Police Service) officer one has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year bu applying and appearing the examination. The eligible candidate aspiring for IPS Civil Service Exam, must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness. Apart from this the candidate should maintain the minimum Physical requirements such as:- HEIGHT:- General Male-165cm and Female-150cm whikle SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm. CHEST:- Male-85cm while Female-79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases. The civil Service exam can be applied through both off line and on line mode by paying requisite fee for the exam. Age criteria:- The minimum age limit to apply this exam is 21 years and the maximum age limit to apply the exam is 30 years. 3 years age relaxation for OBC candidates, 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST candidates. The next step for you to become IPS officer would be college. You will have to complete college and obtain a bachelor degree. It could be any bachelor degree. You are free to choose the stream.
After graduating you can apply for the Indian Police Service. A bachelor degree is main educational requirement for the Indian Police Service. Apart from that you will need to meet certain physical requirements as well. If you meet all the requirements, apply for the Civil Service Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The forms are released in November/December of each year. IPS Criteria 1. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. 2. Must have bachelor degree in any discipline. 3. There is no minimum percentage requirement. 4. Age limit is 21 to 30 years for IPS. 5. OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation. 6. SC/ST are given 5 years relaxation in upper age limit.
