Eligibility Requirements and Admission Procedure for M.Sc in Computer Science
Graduation in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Application with a minimum of 50% marks is the basic educational qualification required to apply for this course. Admission procedure to this course is different and depends on Universities. Reputed Universities such as Delhi University and institutes like Indian Institute of Technology, Madras carries out admission on the basis of entrance exam as well as personal interview. Other institutes such as Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Pune University and Calicut University provide admission on the basis of marks obtained in qualifying exam and counseling.
Eligibility Requirements for Master of Science in Computer Science
Eligibility requirement for this course is different for different Universities. For instance, those who wish to pursue this course under University of Delhi are required to be a graduate degree holder in Computer Science/ Applied Physical Sciences/ Mathematical Sciences from a recognized University in India. Apart from these, those who have completed graduation in any discipline from University of Delhi can also apply. Such candidates should have studied minimum of four papers of computer science and one paper in Mathematics during their graduation. Candidates are required to secure a minimum of 60% marks in Computer science and Mathematics. Final year candidates can also apply for this course by fulfilling the entire eligibility criterion at the time of admission. Candidates are required to complete 20 years of age at the time of admission.
Graduates in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Application with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate are eligible to apply for this course under Calicut University. Reputed institutes such as IIT Madras consider graduation/ engineering degree in computer subjects or Post graduation in science subjects as the minimum educational qualification.
Admission Procedure for M.Sc Computer Science
Just like eligibility criterion, admission procedure varies from one college to another. Most of the institutes carry out admission to this course on the basis of entrance exam. The entrance test conducted by University of Delhi comprises of two papers which include
- Objective type questions
- Comprehensive questions
Pune University carries out admission on the basis of merit score obtained in qualifying exam and final interview conducted by the University. Admission process in Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra is on the basis of previous academic records and counseling. Selection Procedure in IIT Madras includes departmental test and personal interview. Eligible candidates can seek admission in Calicut University on the basis of marks obtained in qualifying degree. Apart from this, they must submit marks sheets as well as other supporting documents at the time of admission.
