The minimum age requirement for this post is 21 years. Also they need to be graduates in the field of food safety. Graduates from the field of chemistry or biology or agriculture can also apply. You will need to first appear for the entrance exams like All India Food Inspectors exam, UPSC exam etc. On clearing this test you will also need to appear for a personal interview.

The entrance test for the recruitment of food inspector posts is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission every year.

Minimum eligibility criteria to apply for this post is that the candidate should have a graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university.

The application forms can be collected from different post offices of UP and the filled up form should be sent to the address :

“Secretary, (Department No. A-2 / E-1/2010),
Public Service Commission, U.P. 10 Kasturba Gandhi Marg, Allahabad-211018”.

Eligibility for food Inspector
1. Undergraduate degree in food safety or related field such as agriculture, biology or chemistry from a recognised university.
2.enroll in the USDA inspection training programme.
3. 1 year experience in food industry needs to be shown on resume.
4. application is available from the official website of united fresh produce association.

eligibility for Excise Inspector
Age: 18-25 yrs.
Degree from a recognised university or equivallent
Physical Standard: Male
height- 157.5 cm.
chest 81 cm
physical test:
walking- 1600m in 15 min.
cycling- 8 km. in 30 min.
physical standard: Female
height- 152 cm.
weight- 48 kg.
physical test:
walking- 1 km. in 20 min.

Educational Qualification:

-> Graduates in medicine through training in food inspection are attend the test. Otherwise,

or

-> You should have completed the bachelors of degree in science subjects and you must have studied Chemistry

or

-> Graduates in Agriculture / Pharmacy / Food Technology / Dairy Technology are also eligible to apply for the test.

or

-> Minimum educational qualification is you should be graduate in the department of Food and Medical Administration.

-> And you should be in between 21 to 35 years of age and the relaxation for the reserved category as per government rules.

>> The selection Procedure is based on the entrance exam and after clear the Food Inspectors entrance exam you should get selected for the posts of Food Inspector in the Food and Medical Administration Department.And the basic salary is 9300 - 34800 + Grade Pay of 4200
