What is the age limit for all group exams? Now i am 30 years old.

Group 1 Age Limit :--

The Candidate have Interested to apply for TNPSC Examination, then your age should between 21 to 30 years. The Upper age relaxation is applicable for Other Category Candidates..


The No Age relaxation for the General Category Candidates..

The relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST Candidates

The Relaxation of 3 years for OBC Candidates

The relaxation of 10 years for Physically Handicapped Candidates



Group 2 Age limit :

Candidates Category Minimum Age Limit Maximum Age Limit

SC / ST / MBC / Denotified 18 Years 35 years
Communities /BC and
Destitute Widows of all castes

Others 18 Years 30 years

Group 4 Exam Age limit :

Age Limit: For all the posts in Group 4 notification minimum age is 18 years.

For BC candidates age limit is 33years.
For OC candidates age limit is 30years.
For Handicaped candidates age limit is 40years.

I am a private sector employ my education is Diploma holder(state board of technical education and training) having 15 years experience, i am eligible for group 2 & group 4.

As your age is 30 years thus you are eligible to apply for both Group I and Group II Exam.This exam is conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission.

Details for Group I Exam :

• Your minimum educational qualification should be bachelor degree in any discipline from recognized university.
• Your age should not be above 35 years.
• Your minimum marks in Bachelor degree course should be 60%.

Details for Group II Exam :

• Your minimum educational qualification should be Inter Pass out in any discipline from recognized board/university.
• Your age should not be above 32 years.
• Your minimum marks in Intermediate course should be 50%.

Important :

• You should be able to speak and Write in Tamil Language/any other Local Language of Tamil-Nadu.
• You will be given preference in selection if you have completed your Bachelor degree course as well as Intermediate Course from the state of Tamil Nadu.

Selection process :

1. Preliminary Exam.
2. Mains Exam.

Syllabus for Written Exam :

• General English/General Tamil - 150 Questions.
• General Knowledge - 150 Questions.

Total marks will be 300.
Total duration of entrance test will be 03 hours.
