Profile:

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Western Region was initially designated as Subordinate Services Commission. The commission was established on September 26, 1977 under the Government of India. The commission is responsible for making recruitment on the Group C and Group B posts in the various departments of Government of India. The network of the commission includes nine regional offices located in the different states of the country. The commission is comprises of only three members i.e. one chairman and two members.

Several vacancies are available in Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Western Region on the following posts of Senior Scientific Assistant, Technical Director and Investigator:

1. Recruitment of Senior Scientific Assistant-III:
No. of posts: Only 6 posts are available.
Age Limit: Age limit set is 18 to 27 years.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.

2. Recruitment of Technical Director:
No. of posts: Only 3 posts are available.
Age Limit: Age limit set is 18 to 27 years.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 2000.

3. Recruitment of Senior Scientific Assistant-III (Chemistry):
No. of posts: Only 4 posts are available.
Age Limit: Age limit set is 18 to 27 years.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.

4. Recruitment of Investigator Grade-II:
No. of posts: Only 6 posts are available.
Age Limit: Age limit set is 18 to 26 years.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.

Application Fee:

Interested candidates will have to the pay the required amount of application fee. Only Rs. 50 is required as application fee from general category candidates. No fee is required from Women/SC/ST/PH and Ex-Serviceman. The fee must be paid by the means of Central RecruitmentFee Stamps only.

The application form accompanied with the required certificates should be mailed in an envelope superscribed as “APPLICATION FOR THE POSTS OF _______________”. The last date for making application has been extented to 19 November 2010 only for candidates belonging to far flung areas.
