Dear Sir, I am studying in std XI (ISC) with PCM. I would like to join in IIST. Could you please help me to know if the selection in IIST is based on IIT-JEE entrance test result or IIST will conduct exclusive test for admission and will d ISC portion help me getting through the test?

yeah the IIST has just started a new entrance test called ISAT and has scrapped the admissions on the basis of IIT JEE.

There are only 156 seats all over india for it so its kinda tough to get through. But you can be the one by preparing hard for it.

iist has started nes entrance xam fot it self isat and now its not talking from iit jee..
it has only 156 seats so its defficult to crack it..
be clear in ur fundamentalss.

Selection/admission in IIST for an undergraduate program is through the ISAT (an exclusive test conducted by the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology). I have attached the ISAT-2010 Brochure for you to have an idea about the Exam...

Dear friend
IIST now conducts separate entrance examination for admission into it. The entrance exam is called ISAT. The eligibility criteria and examination pattern are all similar to that of IITJEE.
The syllabus for the entrance examination is 12th based like IIT-JEE. The questions of the entrance exam use to be objective and the toughness level of examination is also comparable to IIT.
