Re: Should I prefer IISC Bangalore or IIT Kanpur for BS program? I am interested in taking up research in Physics
If you are so detremined to go develop your career in research field in Physics then
IISc Banglore is the better option. IISc banglore is the specific institution for research oriented program only rather than IIT Kanpur which is specifically an engineering institution. IISc Banglore was established to promote research in science but IITs were established to promote technical education. As far research in science is concerned you will be getting more opportunities at IISc. It doesn't at all mean that IIT Kanpur is not good for B.S. program but if you do have both these options and you are willing to do research in future, then B.S. program at IISc Banglore has an edge over B.S. program of IIT Kanpur. |

DEAR FRIEND!!!
IISc Bangalore is the topmost science and research institute in India. It had the paperwork of international repute As you are more interested in research, then you should definitely move for IISc Bangalore. In my point of view it is the best option for you. Thank you and all the best..!! |

Re: Should I prefer IISC Bangalore or IIT Kanpur for BS program? I am interested in taking up research in Physics
see proper research works starts from your phd try to do that from iisc and i think it hardly matters thats from where u persue your bs or ms when specially question rises about the comparison between institutes like iisc and iit k . It is true that iit is meant for tech education but i tell u iitk's dept of physics ,chem, and comp science are one among the top most depts in india. so go where ever u like, and if at the end of the day u are really confused then just toss a coin ,u will get a favourable outcome.

As, you are interested in developing your career in research field in Physics then
IISc Banglore as well as IIT Kanpur both are good college, you may choose any of it. But the better option is IISC because it is research oriented college on the other side IIT Kanpur is mainly engineering and technical knowledge based college so, according to me IISC is the better option for you. good luck |
