Quote:
BAMS has a good career prospect with an increased emphasis on alternative methods of treatment. BAMS graduates can find employment with Ayurvedic private/ government hospitals, in pharma companies producing ayurvedic medicines, as tutors in colleges, private practice, in health centres of hotels/ health resorts. Candidates who have passed BAMS can also apply for post graduate programmes. The Postgraduate programmes are conducted by many recognized institutions and have duration of 3 years leading to degrees of Doctor of Medicine in Ayurveda (M.D. Ayurveda) and Master of Surgery in Ayurveda (M.S. Ayurveda). Post-graduate programs are structured into 16 branches leading to a Doctorate in Ayurveda. You can even do a Diploma course in Naturopathy & Yoga Therapy, Panchakarma, Neonatal care etc. You can also do a postgraduate course in hospital management/administration or a course in clinical research after BAMS. Do choose your specialisation on the basis of your interests, strengths, skills and career goals. Doing MBA is a good idea. And there are lots of opportunities too. But, there is no separate specialization for professionals from medicine background but MBA has different specialization like Finance, Human resource, Marketing, operations, IT & Systems. Prospects of doing MBA after BAMS just depends on what kind of job you would like after doing your BAMS. If you want to pursue your BAMS career as nonclinical then it will help you to go in pharmaceutical companies or in hospital/health care administration. But it would not help you in clinical area. Medical sector is growing rapidly, so the need for managing the healthcare field professionally is also increasing. Hospital & Healthcare Administration comprises a number of complex operations so thorough understanding of these complex operations is essential for effective and efficient policy making and optimal resource utilisation. These are some of the institutes for post graduation in hospital and health management related programs. 1) NIMT Institute of Hospital Management, 2) Delhi Business Schoo |

Re: Specialization courses for which I am eligible after graduating in BAMS?
I have completed 2nd Semester of BAMS and entered into final Semester. In our college BAMS & MBBS syllabus is same for the 1st & 2nd semesters now BAMS & MBBS students have drifted away only when it comes to the clinical part. I am interested to learn both Modern medicine & our own Ayurveda simultaneously for my better career & service to the human cause as per wish of my Grand parents who are no more. Pl help me by suggesting what should I do for acquiring this knowledge. Which are the Institutions that can help me in this regard.
