NET is National Eligibility Test. The required eligibility to pursue the course is that candidate must have passed master degree from a recognised university.
Candidate must have scored minimum 55% aggregate in master degree to become eligible to appear for the examination. No age limit to appear for the examination for recruitment as a Professor. So, you have to pursue the master course to become eligible to appear for the recruitment examination. |

Re: Steps to become a Professor of any reputed university for BA(History) Honours student?
To be become an Assistant Professor (lecturer) of any recognised university, you are required to qualify entrance examinations such as NET/SET/SLET.
Further, the minimum education required to appearing in these examinations is a master's degree ( in your interested paper for teaching) with at least 55% marks from a recognised university. Marks relaxation upto 5% is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved category. So, being a student of undergraduate degree course i.e; B.A. in History degree holder, to become a professor, you need to first complete your graduation degree course followed by a post graduation degree course in your concerned subject and then you need to qualify NET/SET/SLET. |
