I have completed my graduate degree course in Biochemistry. Am I eligible for the post of Food Inspector? If yes, then when and how to apply for it? What is the role and duties of Food Inspector?

The eligibility criteria for Food Inspector examination:

>>Candidate must have done bachelor's degree in streams like agriculture, pharmacy, food technology or dairy technology or bachelor's degree with chemistry as one of the compulsory subject.

You need to pursue bachelor's degree in any of the streams mentioned above to become eligible for Food Inspector exam.

You are eligible to appear for the Food Inspector recruitment examination. Recruitment examination is conducted by PCS.

Examination is conducted in various stages.

You have to appear and qualify in all stages for final selection. The age limit varies with examination.

The role include to check the adulteration and regulation of proper food transportation from one to another place.

1. The All India Food Inspector examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission.

2. The eligibility criteria for Food inspector exam is that candidate must have done bachelor's degree in agriculture, medicine, pharmacy, food or dairy technology. Graduates in chemistry are also eligible.

You can select any of the above given stream.

To Become Food Inspector a candidate needs to be Graduate in any discipline. After completing the three years bachelor degree course, a candidate have to appear for Food Inspector selection examination

Food Inspector’s duty to keep of checking the food distributors, processors and manufacturers for compliances of food standards so that the foods remain hygienic and free from any kind of bacteria.
